My experinece with mother of vinegar

June 9th, 2007

I have read about mother of vinegar, here, for a long time, but have
been keeping my scaling on scalp and face pretty much under control by
bathing with pyrithione zinc anti dandruff shampoo. But the last
couple years (after having a hard layer frozen off my nose by a
dermatologist) my nose, eyebrows and T zone has been getting slowly
harder to control.

Then, one day, I found "Bragg Apple Cider Vinegar With The ‘Mother’ at
a Martin’s grocery store. There was a layer of tan sludge at the
bottom, but I wanted to know that the mother was actually alive. So I
added about a teaspoon of the vinegar (shaken) to a cup or so of
burgandy wine (what I had at the time) in a pint water bottle.
Nothing seemed to be happening, but every day, I opened the bottle to
let fresh oxygen in and then shook the wine to oxygenate it (mother
consumes alcohol and converts it to acetic acid in an oxygen reaction).

ACV group

June 6th, 2007

Hey - yeah there’s a few of us in here that got the boot from that
group. It’s a shame cos ive been using acv for 2 years and a couple of
months and I’d like to see what they’re saying.

Anyway - there’s a few acv(wm) users in here like me. I thought a few
weeks ago that my skin had finally accepted being squirted with acv
every few days but i’m a bit red/sore/peely again today. I still think
it’s the right stuff and hopefully one of these days my skin will
finally learn to cope with it fully.

PS I hope pizza isn’t detremental cos I have a 2-a-week pepperoni
habbit :P

New member and rant

June 4th, 2007

Hi just got booted off the acvm forum run by steven and his "Little
Hitler" syndrome he suffers from for entertaining the possibility of
free speech. I’m not sure what his problem is but it looks like some
other users here have had that experience as well !!

anyway, blessing in disguise as this forum is WAYYY better set up to
answer questions about seb derm.

I suffer from mild seb derm on my ‘butterfly’ area on my face and my
chin. I’m trying the acvm spray routine every night and leaving it on
until morning.

I’ve been removing the dead skin using Cetaphal soap when i shower in
the morning but it leaves my skin red and I have to use cover up for
when i go to work to hide the redness.

i’m trying a new shampoo that’s finally working

June 3rd, 2007

hi,
I’ve been struggling with dandruff since my teen years. i’ve tried
everything
(H&S, Nizoral, T-Gel, natural stuff, aloe, etc.) and can’t find
anything that works for the long term. Things work for a short period
of time and then they don’t work anymore. I also hate how my hair
feels after i use those products.

I’m trying this new product and its working really well so far. I
joined this group that’s sending me the stuff for free - it’s a
shampoo, conditioner and an anti-itch spray thing…in the first week
my dandruff is almost gone- don’t even need to use that spray and i
didn’t wash today and still the flakes are staying away. and my hair
is actually soft, which is awesome.

Weather/Climate

June 2nd, 2007

Hello, I know that winter causes a lot of problems because of the cold
dry air but what about a dry climate like Arizona? Do you think a
place like Arizona or a place like Florida is better for the skin? The
reason I am asking is because we have a choice of the two places next
year around December for 3 months and I currently live in cold Michigan
and do not know which would do me better - I guess either would be
better in the winter than Michigan. Thanks. Rob.

Oracea

May 30th, 2007

Hi Guys, I wanted to give a follow up post about my
positive experience with the new Rosacea drug called
Oracea. I have had Seb Derm for several years and
Rosacea for about 2 years. I was prescribed Oracea a
couple months ago for a bad Rosacea flare and for some
unknown and unexpected reason it completely cleared up
my SD.
I can’t explain it, but it happened. It helped my
Rosacea, cleared some of the acne but has not stopped
the flushing. When I realized after a few weeks that
my SD symptoms had mysteriously disappeared I couldn’t
believe it, but it’s a fact. At the time I began the
Oracea in December my SD was raging out of control.
The flaking around my nose is completely gone and has
been since early January. All the itching and flaking

licorice

Michael, can you tell how the recipe works? What kind of licorice do you
use? How much of each? Do you heat it while mixing? Etc — Many thanks!
