my successful treatment

Saturday, July 14th, 2007

Hi listmates,
I have had sebderm for ten years and have tried many things to treat
it. I have finally found the combination that works for me, and it is
pretty easy. So I wanted to share it. First, a low-to-no-sugar diet.
I eat carbs and a moderate amount of fruit, but no sugary treats.
Also, take 2 fish oil caps (a natural anti-inflammatory) and two
tablets of n-acetyl-glucosamine (NAG - an amino acid that heals tissue)
in the morning and evening. This simple regimen has gotten my sebderm
95% under control. You can order the NAG from the Vitamin Shoppe
online. My skin no longer hurts and I rarely get breakouts. If I get
one cyst, it goes away quickly. And usually I only get one if I eat
sugar or skip too many doses of NAG & fish oil!

Hope this helps.

Hi all,

If you are using the mentioned supplements could you give us some more
details on your regimen?

What strength tablets?
How many per day?
What time of day?

That kind of thing.
Thanks!

My seborrheic dermatitis started when I was almost 16 though I had had
dandruff since 13. It started when the area where my glasses rested on
my nose became inflamed and itchy. I used Nizoral, and the condition
cleared. Two months later, it came back and Nizoral proved
ineffective. I started using Cloderm (a topical steroid cream) which
was effective at first, but then stopped being so. Then, about six or
seven months into my disorder, I started using Protopic which I’ve
used ever since. For my hair I use pyrythione zinc (Head and
Shoulders), which doesn’t control the formation of hard flake layers
well but at least manages the itching a little bit.

At time the condition gets better, but then it comes back. I feel very
self-conscious about it. Luckily, I have managed to keep a decent life
regarding the opposite sex; but I feel extremely self-conscious. Often
I have to plan my days around flare-ups (for instance, if I’m starting

I have been using 4-Ethoxybenzaldehyde, that I ordered from Skin
Actives for the last few weeks. this is the active ingredient from
Cutaniz. This really works great. There have been times of iteching,
put this on and it is all good.

Welcome new members. Most people on the list have heard this from me
before, but this is what works for me:
Washing hair and face twice a week with Head and Shoulders Intensive
Treatment Shampoo. Leave on for at least two minutes.
Taking vitamin b5 - see vilantae.com for more info. It may not work for
everyone, but it has cleared up the oil on my face by two thirds.
Taking boswellia serrata. It’s a pill made from an Indian tree,
available at Whole Foods. It further cleared the oil from my face which
allowed my skin to recover and normalize.
These methods have worked for me for the past two years after seven
full years of oily, red, flaky skin, and trying Nizoral, Klaron,
Desonide, and countless other drugs.
Feel free to email me with any questions.

Hi guys!

I have read this group several times but tonight I signup to it.

I suffer SD since 1997 in differents degrees depending of the stress.
The zones affected are: the head (hair) and chin.

I almost lost the hopes until my last trip to USA this year. I used to
travel to several parts of the world for vacation but only in US the
SD dissapears magically after 2 days.

It’s incredible! I recovered my hopes!.
My explanation is the water: there is something related with the us
water that makes the difference. Someone have some information about
some important difference between US water and rest of the world water
