anyone else experiencing eyebrow hair loss
My seb derm seems to have gotten progressively worse sense I was
diagnosed with it in dec of 06. My brow area was very itchy and flaked
badly. Now I have constant eyebrow hair loss everytime I wash my
face. Some of the hairs have casts or builup of skin attached to root
of the hair as if they are being pushed out. I am going to see a
specialist but was hoping if someone had a similiar experience they
could share some possible solutions. As a guy it is much harder to
conceal this type of problem. Please give me some advice

You’re definitely not alone with this… I know many others have this
problem. I have it slightly, on one eyebrow. I don’t have any magic
solutions for you (I’m watching to see if others reply to your post
also!), but I will offer two pieces of advice:
1. It sounds like your sebderm is totally out of control, so you need
to more actively manage it to prevent this from happening. What are
you using right now? I’ve found that ZNP bar works the best for me. I
make sure to gently massage it into my eyebrows so that the sebderm
in that area is diminished.
2. I find it helps to keep my eyebrows neatly trimmed. The longer my
eyebrows get, the more the sebderm bothers me… and I find myself
rubbing them and picking at them and the hairs start falling out. I’m
not sure why this is… if it’s the weight of the longer hair or the
fact that the longer hair is more likely to get hair caught in it.
Like you I’d be curious if there’s something that can be applied just
to the eyebrows since it’s such a small area. I’ve tried moisturizers
and even cortizone creams and ointments but I can’t really say that
any of that stuff has helped.
Good luck… let me know if you find something that helps!
