I started on 100mg twice daily for 2 weeks, then dropped to 100 mg 2 weeks and
then my
Rosacea started acting up again so I quit it. But my SD has remained gone since
I began
on Jan 4th. (knock on wood). I didn't take it for the SD, I was having Rosacea
related flare
troubles and was hesitant about taking the Doxy but felt desperate and my SD was
out of
control at the same time. My doc hoped the Doxy would calm the inflamatory
episode in
my body. A couple weeks ago my doc put me on a new Rosacea drug called Oracea
which
is a time release low dose Doxy. It is supposed to be low enough that it calms
the
inflamation without crosing into the anti-bacterial action which causes you to
<!--more-->
become
anti-biotic resistant. I took it for 2 weeks but did not have improvement with
Rosacea, but
it has held my SD at bay. I quit it for now, but if the SD flares up again, I
would not
hesitate to go back on it. Rox
