Sugar
I know that many of you must control your carbs or cannot eat sugar
because it exacerbates the seb derm. I have an issue though where,
after I eat sugar, I get a very bad hangover. My sinuses hurt, I have
a headache, I feel very irritable. Does anyone else have this problem?
Thanks!

I can relate… I have similar symptoms both when I eat too much sugar
and also when I first stop eating sugar after I’ve been eating it for a
while.
On the flip side, I feel really good once I get off the sugar (simple
carbs) bandwagon and stay off - and I notice my sebderm improves
slightly also.
From what I’ve read, sugar "feeds" things in our body that we’d rather
not feed - yeasts, fungus, parasites, etc. - things which may
contribute to sebderm. When these things die or thrive, we can have
physical symptoms as a result.
Controlling sugar/carbs is definitely part of my overall sebderm
strategy, as well as my general weight-control/health strategy.

Yeah, sugar and alcohol both cause my SD to flare, but
if I eat so much as a Hershey’s kiss, I’ll have a 10
beer hangover the next day. I have no idea what that
is.

That sounds pretty severe and unusual… you might want to ask your
doctor about it. Your body might be having difficulty processing
sugar.

Yeah, I’ve had this for years. Doctors don’t have any
idea what it is. I assumed it was somehow connected to
the SD. Perhaps not. Thanks.
