SD in the eyebrows HELP!
Hi everyone I just joined the group yesterday. I’m
glad to see someone started it. Anyways I’m 22 and
live in Arizona. I was diagnosed with SD after going
to the doctor and doing blood work to rule out other
things. I have dandruff in my scalp that is fairly
bad. Some hair loss on the scalp recently due to SD I
think. I have been using different shampoos ie. head
and shoulders, selson blue and Nizoral. They work ok.
On my eyebrows I have horrible flaking and hair loss.
It seems like the eyebrows are falling out with a
chunk of skin attached to the root area. The doctor
gave me desonide cream for the face and fluocinonide
for my head. Has anyone else tried either of these and
how did they work? Does anyone else have eyebrow hair
loss? What works good to get rid or it? I read
Listerine works, I’m looking to find some liquid
remedy for the eyebrows because applying cream leads
to more hair loss!

Hi…I also have lost most of my eyebrows since the SD started last year, and
being a
woman without eyebrows is a bummer! I just began using Nizorol cream a few days
ago
after a very serious outbreak around my nose and one my eyelids for the first
time.
I’m afraid to say anything too soon, but it seems to be working. YIPPY! I know
it will be
back, so don’t want to get too confident, but ahhh….what a relief to see
improvement for
once. I am also on a round of doxicycoline for my Rosacea, so that could be
contributing
to my overall face improvements. The doc thought a fast round of antibiotics
might break
the inflammation cycle, and it has. The Nizoral cream is very drying though and
they say
to not get it around the eye area, but hey, isn’t that where my SD is? Whatever
works
makes me happy. Roxanne

Someone recently mentioned LuckyVitamin.com and I found that they
have great prices on this shampoo ($5.60, I think), but you will pay
shipping, if your order is under $100 (I think that’s the amount).
They have lots of other great products as well. I even ordered some
Weleda baby products for my kids.
Anyhow, I tried the shampoo and found it a bit too drying (although I
love the smell!). I have heard that the ingredient Sodium Laurel
Sulfate (I think I am spelling this right) is what SD reacts to and
most shampoos have it. This one does not. Another one that does not
have it is available at Trader Joe’s. If you have a Trader Joe’s
near you, you might try that. This shampoo is much gentler and also
less expensive.
Good luck!
