Something that worked!
Hello everyone, I have been part of this group for a while but
haven’t dropped in for a while because I started to feel hopeless
reading about everything that everyone has tried- how it worked for
some, and not on others. I was dianosed with SD in June of 2006,
though that wasn’t too long ago, it seems like I have been dealing
with it forever now. It has been emotionally draining, and I became
very depressed b/c I was used to having a perfect complection for 24
years! I have spent over a $1000 trying to correct this horrible
thing that has taken over my face, and it just kept getting worse.
The doctors had me on a very strong steriod, that never should have
been used on someones face, and that lead to rosacia. Anyway.. I
promised myself that if I had positive results from something other
than a topically steriod, this would be the first place I went to
tell everyone! Well about a month ago I found something that
worked!
I refuse to use any topical steriods, so my doctor gave me some sort
of steriod shot that cleared up my face within 24 hours.
In addition to that, he prescribed me with a lotion called
Sodium Sulfacetamide 10% and Sulfer 5% lotion which I was told to
apply before bed and in the morning.
He told me to only use Cetaphil face wash, and if I wanted to
exfoliate to use the St. Ives gentle scrub
I was also put on an antibiotic called DOREX 75MG.
My SD is in the creases of my nose, and had stretched all the way
down past my lips. After starting this treatment a little over a
month ago, my face is still looking good. I have actually stopped
applying the Sodium Sulfacetamide 10% and Sulfer 5% lotion twice a
day, and now put it on once a day or even every other day. Which I
am grateful for b/c all of the other topical lotions I had used I
could not go without apply b/c my condition was so bad.
I was blessed to find something that finally worked, and I hope and
pray that anyone who tried it has a success like mine.
Take Care,
Lisa
