Hill Moisture Riser by Hill Dermaceuticals, Inc.

Wednesday, March 28th, 2007

Hi group.

I’m a regular member of this group and I will buy and try most things
mentioned on this site.

Some things work and some things do not, and some products I will not
buy, simple because of the products ingredients. The most important
and simplest thing to remeber is what ingredients to avoid. That
said, we all need to avoid products that have a fragrance, uses
alcohol and/or dyes.

The best products for our skin: Soothing and safe for sensitive skin,
has no fragrance, no alcohol, no dyes or preservatives, and is non-
comedogenic.

An Introduction and proposition

Friday, March 23rd, 2007

It seems like through this board we might have an opportunity to learn
more about this condition…if I designed a survey that we all could
take, would people be interested in taking it? I’m thinking that if
we could get enough people to contribute, maybe we could identify some
trends that would help us all gain a better understand of this
condition and how to cure it (I know, I know, there’s no "cure," but I
think eventually there will be…).

Anyway, thanks for reading, and if you think this is a good idea then
maybe we could do it!

SD and shaving methods

Wednesday, March 21st, 2007

Hi gang

For all you male members which shaving cream and equipmentdo you use,
as within the last few months I have developed SD on the chin. I find
that shaving irritates it as I have thick facial hair, and this causes
some bumps to form (with pus filled spots formed the next day). D male
members find that shaving with electrical razors are more gentle for
the skin? I ask because i am thinking about buying an electrical razor.

I understand that from some research that liquorice extract in cream
form can be used to treat eczema, has anybody tried this?

Thanks

Antonio

Cryotherapy

….found on the Drudge Report

"I was frozen to improve my health" By BARNEY CALMAN Last updated at

"…I have suffered from eczema around my eyes for four years; I use a
medicated cream daily to stop flare ups, but remarkably, since having
cryotherapy it’s been itch and pain free. I’ve not needed to use my
medication for the first time in a year and a half…."

Dermadoctor CCC

Sunday, March 18th, 2007

Hi,

I was wondering if Dermadoctor Calm Cool and Corected is worth trying?
I read some past posts about it and they seem mixed. Also what works
on the itching - I tried benedryl and even atarax but sometimes the
itching drives me crazy like little insect bites. Any information is
much appreciated. Thanks, Rob.

Okay, I tried the yogurt……

Friday, March 16th, 2007

…and to my surprise, it really seems to be working! I apply it to
my face (forehead, either side of the nose), and I let it sit while I
shave the lower half of my face (I’m a guy, so I do that kind of
thing.) Then I shower it all off, and it really has helped! It’s
pretty red for a little bit, then it calms down and is pretty much
like normal skin. I’ve only been trying this for a couple of weeks,
so I don’t know the long-term effects, but I’m very impressed! I
encourage all to give it a try and see what you think.

ZnP soap?

Monday, March 12th, 2007

Anyone have any experience with zinc soap? I am going to invest in
some soap, cream and 2% shampoo. I was just wondering if these worked
for mild flare ups.

New member - suffer from SD for many years.

Sunday, March 11th, 2007

Hi !, i came across this site by accident and thought it might be good
to join and share our knowledge on SD.
I have SD for many years and it started when I took up golfing under
hot tropical and humid environment 365 days of the year. I live in
Singapore.

The skin specialist prescribed Aristocort A cream. This provides
instant relieve and the reddness subsided almost within 30 minutes. It
comes on and off and sometime it will not appear for weeks. I think I
have this some 12 years ago.

The Aristocort cream is very good.

accutane??

Saturday, March 10th, 2007

I have read a number of times while scrolling the internet that a low
dose of the acne drug accutane has been successful in treating
patients with seb derm 10-20mg doses, severe acne sufferers are on
about 80mg The side effects are well documented also but have read a
couple of journals by users and they have been pleased with the
results,Has anyone been advised by a derm or even tried this
treatment.I also keep seeing a add on t.v for proactiv solution which
claims to be the best over the counter treatment for acne sufferers
seen as there are some similarities in the two conditions is it
possible some of the same treatments can be effective for seb derm.

new member crossed from the dark side

Saturday, March 10th, 2007

hi guys just discovered this site (cheers bob) have been a member of
the acvm site for a bit now and am currently trying the routines at
the moment,The reason I am here is I know its impossible for me to
stick to steves diet 100% forever and wouldnt mind exploring the
possibilitys of other methods of treatment be they conventional or
natural without fear of reprisal. In the 4 years since ive had sd it
has gotten prodgressively worse in fact it was much better before I
was aware of any treatments or diets but I put that down to the nature
of the disease.I know there is no cure but control is a word used
often and thats what im after I can deal with sd its not fun however
but to be able to reduce the ammount and severety of the flares would
be good.
