sebderm inside the ears..ro
i have had this for years. my derm. told me to use steroid cream 1-2x
a day, but when it flares, which is now, i find that the cream base,
combined with the flaking, makes immovable crusts. sorry, i know this
is very revolting…
i have been using the liquid wax remover drops which contain a type
of peroxide, but i think that the inflammation is made worse.
peroxide is not very good to use on delicate tissue.
have ordered some spray steroid, base is alcohol. hope that will
help.
meanwhile, my ears itch like crazy and also sting and burn. have had
some success with anti=fungal creams in the past, but here again,
there is the cream problem.
i am uninsured now and disabled with postpolio syndrome . have also
heard that some people with neuro. conditions tend to develop worse
sebderm. cannot go to derm. until december or january (when medicare
kicks in).
what about tea tree oil? aloe juice? i take efa caps (flax, etc), but
cannot bear the fish oils, yuck. would feverfew help? i keep it
around for migraine.
to say the very least, i am under intense stress now, having gone
from an active ballet dancer and clinical medicine person to a
wheelchair bound person with no money. also losing my vision
(inherited cornea problem).
yours sincerely, wasting away,

I suggest you wash your ears daily with a pyrithione zinc dandruff
shampoo (Zincon, DHS Zinc, some versions of Head & Shoulders or their
generic competition). Just take plenty of time to rinse thoroughly,
because the residue can irritate. Take some Q tips into the shower
with you, both to coat the ear canal with shampoo, and to help with
the rinsing. The warm water will also help soften and remove the crust.
