Thanks Ronnie-I agree!

Thanks for the advice, and I agree whole heartily with
you that what’s wrong with my skin is about what’s
going on inside my body, not outside. My troubles
began more than a year ago immediately following a
serious diverticulitis bleed that landed me in the
hospital.
(I had no idea I had intestinal problems before this
happened). After 2 weeks of antibiotics my face broke
out in what I first thought was hives, but has morphed
into this Rosacea/SD thing I am now learning to live
with. I know that nothing I put on my face, or any
drug they give me will cure me, found that all out the
hard way. I’m on your path now, I LOVE WHOLE FOODS!
Wish I had bought their stock years ago instead of
those stupid tech stocks, I’d be a millionaire now.

And wish I had learned back then too the benefits of
eating all the nutritional foods and supplements they
sell, maybe I wouldn’t be living with all these health
problems. About 6 months ago I gave up on the doctors
and began my own eating and supplemental program not
only to cure my poor colon, but with the hopes that
the outcome would be an improvement in my skin. I
have stuck pretty closely to the Perricone Diet,
eating fruits and veggies deep in color, have
eliminated meat and pork and pretty much all
preservatives and additives from my diet. No more
Stoffers quick fix, instead in a pinch I run to Whole
Foods and get something from their deli or salad bar.
I finally gave up my morning cappachinos and now drink
Green Tea instead. (that was a hard one!) I take
several supplements Perricone recommends, Omegas,
Flax, Boreaga, and several amino acids. Acai Berries
are my most favorite treat. But still I have a long
way to go, still have too much sugar and white flour
in my diet, I’m not perfect, but working on improving.
My intestinal problems have pretty much completely
healed, and overall my skin is better than it was. At
least it has stopped progressing. The SD was the last
thing to show up on my face, and is still causing me a
lot of grief. I’m hoping by keeping up with this
board and catching up on past posts this weekend will
give me some insight into what other options I have to
try. Thanks for your feedback. Roxanne
