seabuckthorn update

Monday, January 29th, 2007

Hey everyone I just wanted to give you all a quick update. It’s been a
week since I started using the seabuckthorn products and they’ve been
working great. My skin hasn’t looked this good in a long time.
I went and saw my derma and asked him if he knew anything about it
and of course he didn’t. He said that since it was something that was
herbal that it wasn’t something he followed or perscribed. If this
stops working for me than I may go back and see him but so far there’s
no need to.

Let me know if anyone decides to try it. I’m hoping you all get the
same results as me.

Need help

Sunday, January 28th, 2007

Hi guys, my name is Douglas and i just joined this group, and yes,
i’m suffering from Seborrheic Dermatitis, and its not a guess, my
private doctor, who’s also a dermatologist told me so after
examining my condition. The outline of my nose, corners of upper and
lower lip are red and flaky. I seriously do not know what to do.
Doctor first gave a moisturizing cream, which failed. My condition
worsened, affected skin areas became very tight, and I could not
even bite hard food stuffs. I saw him again, and he prescribed some
sort of pills which would desensitize the skin, and he gave me
another cream, which is oilier. These pills helped, my skin became
less red, and the new cream really moisturizes the skin, considering
that is really very oily. I finished the pills, and gradually it
came back, and i went back to him asking for more of the pills, but
he refused, saying it should not be taken long term, and that i
should rely more on the cream. What seems to be the problem? Is it

My Apple Cider Vinegar Progress - Update 1

Saturday, January 27th, 2007

——————————————————————–

It’s a month later and it’s time to check-in. If you have time,
please read this whole message. :) I have attempted to provide as
much detail as possible.

Over the past month, I have used full strength apple cider vinegar
with mother (herein referred to as ACV), seen an allergist and an
acupuncturist, and used diluted ACV.

First, a course of full strength ACV was largely successful and
lasted eight days (application/scabbing). My skin was reset to a
pure, smooth surface. Sadly, it only lasted a week.

My diet also regressed. This was unavoidable as I had to attend many

seabuckthorn oil

Friday, January 26th, 2007

hi everyone,

Last week I found out about the benefits of seabuckthorn oil
after my mother-in-law saw an article in the paper about it. So I
did some research and found that it can help people with rosacea,
atopic dermatitis, and a number of other skin problems. Although it
didn’t specifically say that it helps people with seb derm I
thought, "what he heck," and decided to give it a try.
I bought it monday and have been using it for the past two days
and I got to tell you I think it’s the greatest thing ever! The
redness on my face is about 90% gone and the scaling and flaking are
about 80% gone. I’m really surprised at how great this product works
and why nobody ever mentioned it before.
I’ll keep you all updated on my progress but if anyone would
like to try it now the brand I bought is from a canadian company

Improvement During Summer

Thursday, January 25th, 2007

I read awhile back that SD improves during the summer. I have had less flaking
and
itching the past month or so. Anyone care to comment on that? I also quit using
the
dandruff and Nitrozol thanks to advice on this board, so maybe it’s that? Rox

Hola everybody!

Hi, I’m also new to the site. I’ve been reading the other posts and it
seems that this disease can really get pretty serious… Fortunatelly
for me it’s only on my scalp. I started having it like 10 years ago
and had always treat it with dandruff shampoos like Head n’ Shoulders.
It never went away but it seemed to go down at times.

Lately the scales and itchyness had been so bad that I went with my
regular doctor and he said it might be SD. He prescribed Fuogera
(Fluocilone)and told me to rub it on my scalp at nights. I’ve just
used it twice and it feels a little better. Does anybody know anything
about this medication?

I also read that you shouldn’t use dandruff shampoos but baby ones.
I’ll try that and see if it works. What about hair pomade? I use a
texture paste by Garnier called Surf Hair to style my hair. Do you

Sea Buckthorn Cream

Tuesday, January 23rd, 2007

I recently heard about an organic cream called Sea Buckthorn cream.
Has anyone tried it before? I’m getting ready to give it a try. It’s
sold online an I found it at an organic foods store by where I live.
This is some information I found on it if your interested.

Skin: An ingredient of the oil, palmitoleic acid, is a component of
skin. It is considered a valuable topical agent in treating burns
and healing wounds. This fatty acid can also nourish the skin when
taken orally if adequate quantities of sea buckthorn or its oil are
consumed; this is a useful method for treating systemic skin
diseases, such as atopic dermatitis (14). The only other major plant
source of palmitoleic acid is macadamia nuts; the oil is used to
nourish the skin. Sea buckthorn oil is already widely used alone or
in various preparations topically applied for burns, scalds,
ulcerations, and infections. It is an ingredient in sunblock-

Question regarding facials

Monday, January 22nd, 2007

I have facial SD. On a scale from 1-10 my flare-ups can range from
3-6. I’ve always been able to treat even my most severe episodes in
about a week with Cortizone and Terbinafine.

That’s background so here’s my question. I received a gift
certificate for a Spa Day which includes a "Deep Pore Facial",
whatever that means. Needless to say I’m a little wary. Should I indulge?
