Glad to have found you…but sad I have to!

Monday, October 30th, 2006

Hello everyone,

I am very happy to have found an online support group to deal with SD!
I have been diagnosed with it three times since last September.
However, I am willing to take whatever action I need to before I am
made into a believer.

Long story short: late last summer, I started taking an herbal
supplement called "Fertility Blend". About a month after taking it, I
noticed my scalp started itching and flaking which quickly led to the
skin behind my ears to crack and bleed, followed by a rash on the sides
and back of my neck. My hair started falling out at a drastic rate.
Immediately quit using the Fertility Blend (although I inquired with
the company regarding this side effect, they said it was not a noted
side effect). Went to a dermatologist who immediately diagnosed it as

Scalp SD, young age, worries.

(newbie)
Well I’ve been diagnosed with SD recently, though it’s been obvious I
have suffered from it my whole life. I am relatively lucky. I have a
horrible case of it behind my ears, eyebrows, and the bottoms of my
feet. Everywhere else it is small (alongside the nose), a sad instance
on my genatalia. Ocasionally, more often than not. I will will flare
up, right on the end of my hairline, right on the top of my head. I
mean precisely above my forehead where the hairline ends. I will flare
up big scaly chunks that eventually go away. I’m curious. Is this
going to cause a quickly receeding hairline. Has anyone with SD (not
extreme, but enough to worry) ever experienced this problem. What can
you tell me. It’s just a shame because I flare up a little, then I
totally wig out, becoming bummed out, that in turn rases my stress
making the instance worse. Please help me out.

New User

Friday, October 27th, 2006

Hi,

I am a new user to this group. I have suffered with SD since my late
teens, it started in my hair as dandruff (and tried Head and
Shoulders - didn’t work). In my early to mid-20s I went to see a
dermatologist who started me on 2% hydro-cortizone and then dropped
down to 1%.

I am now 45 and still use 1% HC cream on my face and (when I have my
hair cropped) my scalp. I also occasionally have to use the cream on
chaest and back, but in the last 5 years hardly ever. In the last 5
years I have also suffered around my perianal region.

Reading some of the posts I have browsed I wonder if my regime is
right for me. I don’t consider I have bad SD, but if I forget to use

Green Tea Cream

Friday, October 27th, 2006

Group,

I’ve been using this Green Tea Cream by Dr Syed (www.syedbeauty.com)
for about six weeks now, mainly for my mild rosacea, but haven’t had
one single seb derm flare up during these time - and I have not had to
use either of my two main weapons against seb derm since years back,
Head & Shoulders Intensive Treatment (allthough I continue using it
for my hair, I also used it on my face before) and Cutanix DRL. This
is a BIG plus I really didn’t except or had in mind when I first
started using the cream. There’s still room for more improvement when
it comes to my rosacea, but I’m still impressed and as far as I can
remember, this is the only topical that has really helped me with all
my skin problems.

My overall skin health has improved a great deal and I really would
