Advice for New Members

Sunday, September 3rd, 2006

The older members on this list have heard this from me before, but
for the newer members, here are some things that work for me. I’ve
had seb derm for 10 years - very oily, red skin, flaky around the
nose, eyes and mouth. I tried Nizoral, Desowen, shampoos, etc, but

1. Vitamin B5 therapy - high doses of B5 to reduce oil production.
It’s water soluble, so it’s safe to consume in these doses. Several
doctors have confirmed this for me. I get mine from vilantae.com, but
any store that sells vitamins has B5. It has reduced my oiliness by
60%.
2. Boswellia serrata - one pill three times a day. Reduced oiliness
by a further 20%.

relationships

since my condition has gotten much worse, I feel totally
self-conscious and I find that I don’t have the confidence to date
people. I’m worried that if I get close to them they will be more
aware of what’s going on with my body and that will be an issue. Has
anyone else felt like this? Anyone who is single and dealt with dating
with this weirdness? I know that usu. people on here talk only about
treatments, but this is an important issue for me and any
help/thoughts would be appreciated. Take care. -Beth
