ACV - ello im new

Friday, August 11th, 2006

I have tried every dilution of ACV possible but for me it needs to be
100% to control the SD. At the moment im using it before washing, in
an aftershave sort of style, then rinsing my face in lavender oil
infused water immediately (i don’t use any soap). The plan is that the
ACV will do its job but wont be on the skin long enough to burn and
cause redness - then the lavender will help it to heal.

I would like to hear from people with similar experiences who might
hav some tips.

What is the ACV routine…?

Is there a post number to read the actual recommended routine? I don’t
see any FAQs.

Chris — Cutanix?

Tuesday, August 8th, 2006

Chris, dunno if I’ve asked you this before, but have you tried
Dramatic Relief from Cutanix? It is by far the most superior product
I’ve ever come across so far for my seb derm.

Fasting

I’ve been reading that some research shows that fasting will help
clear up eczema. It also stresses that a change of diet is necessary.
Has anyone experimented with, or done reading on, fasting?

Medicine Rebound

Saturday, August 5th, 2006

I have been reading about an interesting concept in some of the forum
groups, specifically dealing with a rebound effect from using
medicines. People have claimed that their skin condition has worsened
precisely because of what initially was supposed to help them.
Apparently, whatever treatment they’ve been on (and there were various
ones I read about, ranging from steroids to non-steroids like Elidel
and Protopic)somehow ‘poison’ the skin. After the individual stopped
using them there was a ‘rebound effect’ where the skin reacted to what
they had been applying, almost in a violent fashion. I don’t know if
that’s because the skin becomes dependent on the medicine and then
when it’s stopped the seb derm comes back in full force, but this time
10 times worse. Has anyone experienced or heard of such a phenomenon?

Does Nizoral alter hormones?

Saturday, August 5th, 2006

Friends,

I’m a 44-year-old male who has dealt with seb derm for over 20
years. About a year ago, for the first time, I was prescribed Nizoral
shampoo, which I’ve used on my scalp, and putting the suds on the
affected part of my face.
The results were great, and to my surprise a I had significant
regrowth of hair in the balding areas of my head. However, along with
this nice side benefit, I’ve noticed a dramatic loss of libido. I
can’t help but wonder if the two are related. What am I doing to
myself? Is Nizoral known to decrease testosterone levels, or am I
just getting older very quickly?

Concerned,

lots to learn

I think a trigger to the sd for me is hormonal. I am on my second
round of ‘roids..and it is clearing up slowly..but i don;t like the
way i feel. At 44..(29 to those i work with)..do you think going on
the pill is ok?

I see Dan has added to our picture collection…welcome aboard!

tea tree oil.

Tuesday, August 1st, 2006

Chris, Australian tea tree oil is and has been a great helper of skin
infections for a long time. I personally did not find it helpful, more
so worsened the seb derm. In saying that, a friend of mine who had seb
derm made noticable improvements to her skin.

Like you said, something for everyone!
