about me…

I have had the "sebderm" condition for over 7 years now. It started
before I turned 40 with itching patches on my scalp that drove me
crazy. I went to a dermatologist who did a biopsy and gave the
diagnosis of sebderm and over the next 7 years I was prescribed many,
many treatments. I have probably been on 30 different Rx cremes,
ointments and shampoos. I have gone for steroid injections directly
into the sites-weekly- for over six months. Then, my last treatment,my
final option, was to have the affected sites of my scalp surgically
removed. The removed portions were analyzed and they told me that it
was "scar tissue" that had been removed. I have been on every diet-
taken every road to try to find some relief from this condition. I
found this group today and felt hope knowing there are people with a
similar condition. I don’t know what else to do, or try to treat this-
but hope some of you will help me with your suggestions. Thanks.

I was also wondering if any of you have OCD and feel uncontrollable
urges to constantly wash your hair or pick the dry/dead skin off the
areas. I feel like this condition has controlled my life for over 7
years and no one understands my frustration. I feel like nothing will
help- and frankly, an acv topical treatment seems ridiculous compared
to the drastic measures I have taken as treatment in the past.
Yesterday I was told by a salesperson at the health food store that
people with skin disorders also swear by taking evening primrose oil
caplets three times daily. I am starting this along with the vinegar in
addition to all my other treatments. I will let you know if it helps.
But if any of you out there feel the same compulsive need to pick, or
wash your problem areas, please let me know. At this point I feel like
no one understands the torture, both mental and physical, this

    condition has caused me.

Ive had Seb Derm for years now too. Its never really been that bad
untill i was really stressed this past year and that really messed
up my skin. Ive never had it on my chin. Now i do. My skin is
    extremely sensitive. I hate this.
