A little help

Hello! I am new here and just looking for some info. My 10 year old
daughter was diag with SD two years ago. She is currently using loprox
shampoo 3x per week and occassionally using Fluocinonide topical
soulution. Her condition has never really gotten better and most
recently has gotten much worse. I took her back to the derm 6 months
ago and he acted like I was wasting his time. He reminded me that
there is no cure and basically said we had to deal with it. I asked
about changing shampoo, etc and he said what we are using is the best
choice. I want to find something that can hopefully help her situation
improve. She has it only on her scalp. The flakeness, dandruff and
itching are the big things that we are trying to control. Any
suggestions as far as shampoos, products or anything else would be
greatly appreciated! Thanks, Julie

I was prescribed Loprox as well, and while it did an adequate job the
SD still persisted. I’ve used Head and Shoulders ‘Intensive Treatment’
for some time and it does just as well and costs less. I wish I could
offer a miracle cure. Especially since I suffer both on my scalp and
    face.

    Hi.

I hear your frustration and first of all I would find
a different doctor!!! Although there is no cure there
are several things a "good doctor" can prescribe to
try and help - not all things work the same for all
people so it is trial and error. It really makes me
angry when doctors act like that - do they think we
want to pay for an office visit just because we have
nothing else to do! I find Jojoba oil helps along
with Nizoral shampoo. Good luck. Rob.

I also get good results from Nizoral.  Also I use it on my skin twice a week.

Hello! Thanks for the information! Have you heard anything about apple cider vinegar? I got hooked up with a sight that is telling me that I have to change my daughters diet( sure, shes a kid )  and start using diluted apple cider vingear  straight to her scalp. I’m wondering about this one. How is the Jojoboa oil used?Directly to the affected areas of the scalp? How long should it stay on? We are getting ready for the whole trial and error thing. I am just trying to gather as much information as possible first. Thank you for your help! Julie
