Does Nizoral alter hormones?

Friends,

I’m a 44-year-old male who has dealt with seb derm for over 20
years. About a year ago, for the first time, I was prescribed Nizoral
shampoo, which I’ve used on my scalp, and putting the suds on the
affected part of my face.
The results were great, and to my surprise a I had significant
regrowth of hair in the balding areas of my head. However, along with
this nice side benefit, I’ve noticed a dramatic loss of libido. I
can’t help but wonder if the two are related. What am I doing to
myself? Is Nizoral known to decrease testosterone levels, or am I
just getting older very quickly?

Concerned,

I dont know about the hormones, but I do wonder about the hair

I don’t know what effect Nizoral would have on hormones for a man, but for me (as I am a female)
I never noticed any hormonal effect of that nature.

But I would NOT advise ignoring this: especially if it continues for a long time, I would recommend checking this out with your physician, as there can be many reasons why this can happen: it could be your body’s signalling you that there is something changing that needs to be dealt with.

I have been on nizoral for two months and it has not affected my
hormones at all. I am a woman, so I don’t know how it would affect a
    man!
