Swimming

Monday, June 12th, 2006

I was wondering if anyone knew if the chemicals in pools had any
effect on sebderm. All the chlorine and other chemical in pools and
hot tubs. Does it seem to help or make it worse for anyone? Just
wondering.

Derma Zinc Soap

Saturday, June 10th, 2006

Has anyone tried this soap? I got it from dermadr
when I ordered cool, calm & corrected, which seems to
help. Anyway, I had one red area on my cheek, which
got worse after use of the soap, a lot like if I used
T-gel on it. However it did help some with scaling.
Any thoughts?

thanks Dan

Dan,
Thanks for mentioning that vaseline (petroleum jelly) works to wipe
away the flaking! I tried it, and it works fantastic! I even stopped
using the prescribed lotion now, which seemed to be drying my skin out
even more! I feel much better about my condition now. I thought I’d
have to use the lotion forever…

IPL, good or bad for SD?

Thursday, June 8th, 2006

Hello,

I have read some past posts about IPL but wonder if it really helps SD
and if it would make the skin more irritated after the procedure. A
friend of mine said I should try it but my skin is already dry and
sensitive and I do not want to make it worse but if it would help then
I might try it. Any information would be much appreciated. Thank you.
Robert.

is this SD ?

Saturday, June 3rd, 2006

Hi ,
I just wanted to ask anyone out there if this can be SD? On some days
I have perfect skin then I get itchy my face literly hurts followed by
very blotchy skin it then dries out and I get some scaling followed by
great skin for a few days and its back to the cycle… Lately I have
been keeping track of the days it worsens I have great skin monday
through wed. and by thursday friday its horrible. Can SD be that
cyclical and can I get some help, I hate it …I hate going out on the
bad days I litrally get depressed. Can I cover up the redness with
anything ?
I had some dryness and and a sploch here or there for years but was
able to control that since a year ago its been horrible and getting
worse in the winter. The only thing i noticed will help is cordran
lotion which I read is really bad for
you, what other alternative do I have ? Please give me some

Tanning/ Salt Water

Friday, June 2nd, 2006

has anyone tried tanning esp in the winter, I
noticed that now that it’s grey outside I’m much
worse. Also, I saw a book that mentioned that people
with psorasis flock to the Dead Sea for relief, the
water there has a very small amount of natural coal
tar. PS I know from my teenage years that salt
water(ocean) helped me.

Frustration

Thursday, June 1st, 2006

The following is a post I came across in another SD group from a
fellow sufferer. I think it illustrates why SD is so frustrating. The
individual is following a healthy diet and is living nearly stress
free…and STILL has the condition!

"What drives me nuts is the fact that my stress level in the last
year is almost zero, I have a very healthy life, active in sports,
good sleep, watching my diet, trying to help my immune system and
even so my affected areas are getting bigger…
I’m drugs free in the last 10 years, using homeopathic and natural
products only (vitamins as well)."
