Has anyone tried this?
Hi,
My severe SD began in mustache several months ago during a very
stressful time for me. I agree with the recent post by Dan that
stress/frustration is a big factor. Lately the SD has been creeping up
to the inside of my nose, and is causing severe burning. Is this
normal for it to creep up into the nose? My big dilemma is: Should I
shave my mustache/beard off to help combat the SD since it really
seems to be concentrating on that area of my body? I hate the thought
of shaving off my mustache. I could live without the beard (though I’d
miss it). I just don’t know what to do. Any advice you could give me
would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!
I just got done browsing the ‘Vinegar’ SD group. They just posted some
notes on diet. Saying specifically to stay away from yogurt and bread
containing yeast. The moderator claims to have run tests and both of
these foods have proven to aggrivate SD. I tell ya, it all just gives
me a headache. Even if you don’t follow using the apple cider with
vingear regimen, I recommend signing up with the group just to read
the posts. Although, I’m not sure just how useful some of the info is.
In my case, I’m still searching for answers.
I was informed by a homeopathic doctor that diet plays a critical role
in SD and skin conditions. He informed me to stop my wheat, dairy,
sugar intake. In addition, he mentioned that it would most likely be
months before I noticed any change. This is due to the fact that my
body is conditioned towards certain foods that I’ve been ingesting all
my life and it has to get used to the new foods.
I saw some older posts of people saying that they posted their intro
message in the other group (seborrheic-dermatitis-support) but didn’t
get access to the "sister" group (seborrheic-derma) where the diet ad
shower routine are described.
I don’t think you get added to that group automatically after you post
your intro. I would suggest sending a join request. Post your intro,
save a link to the message, then go to:
and click "Join this group". Put a link to your intro message in the
message you write for the request…
That worked for me.
I meant to type doxycycline as the name of the antibiotic I was
prescribed in my last post…
Hi all,
I’m 42 yrs old, and just came down with SD. I’ve had dandruff for
years, but during a recent period of extreme stress (possible
divorce) I had an attack of SD that began in my mustache, and on the
sides and bridge of my nose. I work in an office, so I was extremely
embarrassed by it. Even thought of calling in sick one day, which I
cannot afford to do. I also have tiny pimples on my scalp along with
it, which itch, but when popped, the itching stops. Some of them
seem to have a tiny granule inside them. Not sure what these are.
I don’t know if I had cradle cap as a baby, as both my folks are
gone, and I can’t ask. The derm doctor I went to was not real
talkative, so I didn’t learn much. I have an appt with another Dr.
tomorrow for a second opinion. I was prescribed Demoxycilin in 100
mg tablets alternating two every other day. He also gave me
Fluocinolone Acetonide Topical Solution USP, 0.01%, which is a
