New Prescription Cleared Scalp, Neck, Chest, Knuckles
Redness and flakes gone!
Last Doctor Visit: 07 October 2005
Diagnoses: Seborrheic Dermatitis and Psoriasis.
Effected Area: Head, Neck, Chest, and Kunckles of both hands.
Prescribed: Clobetasol Propionate Solution USP, 0.05% - A
corticosteroid; and Clobetasol Propionate Ointment USP, 0.05%
Patient Instructions: A dry skin care regime was discussed. Patient
(me) should take short, 5-7 minute, lukewarm showers with a mild
cleanser. The patient is advised to apply emollients at least twice
daily preferrably to slightly dampened skin. Liberal use of
emollients are recommended.
My results: With prescriptions filled, my first treatment was on the
eve of October 7. I used the ointment for my eyelashes, neck, chest,
around my ears, and hands and used the solution on the red spots on
my scalp and T-zone nose area. The next day, I used DHS SAL Shampoo
[it’s made for SD and Psoriasis] and washed my face with a fragrant
free all natural face cleaner and shaved. I then applied the
medication. In the evening, I washed up and applied the medication
again. On the third day, I stopped the solution medication because
my scalp and face cleared up, but added the ointment to my neck. It
should be noted that my Rx states: "as needed for flare of itching,
redness, flaking."
Today is 18 October 2005. My face and scalp is still clear of all
flaking, but I’m still adding the ointment to the knuckles of my
hands and to my neck. They are a bit pink, but they are no longer
swelling, red or itching.
I’m a white male - age 59. Hope this info helps someone.
