Frustrated!
I am a 28-year-old female…I have had sebderm since I was 13 or 14
years old. I didn’t know what the redness on my nose, cheeks and
chin
was until I recently wised up and finally went to my doctor and got a
diagnosis. Guess I figured out the redness was never going to
just "go away" without some help. Anyway…My story is pretty short
and simple:
My primary care physician prescribed Nizoral cream…Didn’t do a
thing
for me.
The first dermatologist I saw prescribed Rosac with sunscreens.
Didn’t do a thing either. She strongly suggested laser treatments at
$350 a pop, and I would need 2-3 initial treatments, if the Rosac did
not work. I don’t have $1,000 for laser treatments, and then with no
guarantee they’d work…I can’t take the chance of throwing that
money
away.
The second dermatologist I saw prescribed DesOwen for flare-ups and
Elidel for keeping the redness down in-between flare-ups. Since
being
prescribed these meds, I’ve done research and find that DesOwen,
being
a steriod, cannot be used for many years, and once I come off of the
lotion, I could experience steroid withdrawals and then have even
worse flare-ups! And with recent studies coming out about Elidel
causing cancer….I’m really unsure about using these two drugs!
So, here I sit, four prescriptions on my bathroom counter…Some
which
don’t work, and some I’m afraid to use due to side effects. Is there
any hope for me in controlling this?!?!?

Hi,
I hear you, fighting with your skin can be tough. Maybe you could try
Calm, Cool and Corrected from www.dermadoctor.com
Or the DRL for sensitive skin from www.cutanix.com
Those are the two topicals that would be best for you. Or you could use
both.
This is no add as you would know, since I have posted here for a long
time, and these two are the best things out there. It is also the main
things that www.dermadoctor.com would recommend.
Check out the article on dermadoctor about seborrhea and about rosacea.
Best wishes,
Mads

One more thing, these two lotions are non-steroid, they enhance and
build up the skin and reduce inflamation but the active substances not
steroids.

Hi Mads,
Tks for your reply. My condition seem to be alright
now!!! I think it is because I use a liquid foundation
brand -Bourjouis. It is an oil-free but moisturize
liquid foundation. It really work!!!! You may try out
?
