just had my first fraxel laser treatment
It’s a new one (just came out in March), much more serious than the
IPL and other light therapies. I had to be seriously drugged up,
and it was PAINFUL. It sucked, but I really think it has helped my
skin already! Either that or the copper post-laser lotion they gave
me is helping. I guess time will tell. I have to get 3 more
treatments.
I got it for skin rejuvenation — it’s supposed to vastly improve
skin texture and take 5-15 years off of the skin. I was really
hoping for sebderm improvement, and it actually does seem a little
better. I’m sure it’s fleeting — that’s my luck with this
condition.
They told me not to use the ‘roid cream, which I’d only used for two
days. For those who are interested, when I went off of Protopic my
skin completely flipped out. I don’t know how else to describe it.
On day 1 without it, a few light flakes. Day 2, some flakes and
noticeable redness. Day 3, lots of redness, some swelling,
widespread scaling. Day 4, I got a case of folliculitis like I’ve
only seen on the web on derm websites. My whole face and neck
(where I’ve never had problems before) were covered with tiny red
dots that itched unbelievably, along with scale. My entire face was
swollen. At that point, I whipped out the steroid lotion that the
doc had given me and slathered it on. It helped take away the
redness, and it got rid of the red dots by the end of the same day.
I’ll tell you, though, it’s no Protopic, that’s for sure. It just
figures that the one thing that actually works causes fricken cancer.
Has anyone used a Vitamin D derivative cream like Curatoderm?
