5 Responses to “steroid rebound - how many days before it shows up ?”
In my case it was getting progressively worse after not using them for about 3 to 4 days.
It got real bad and I took a while off work, I considered going back on the steroids, but stuck with it and I`m certainly glad I did.
The steroids have caused my steroid rosacea, but at least I`m off them now.
I just use Protopic.
Has anyone who has used steroids experienced this mysterious "thinning
of the skin" or "skin laxity"? It seems everyone gets rosacea and
rebound outbreaks when they stop using it, but I’m wondering how
common the other effects are?
I have noticeably thin skin mostly on my nose, also a bit on my
cheeks. It’s only noticeable on very close inspection though, and
probably more so to me than anyone else! Difficult to describe it
really - looks maybe a little bit plasticky, i.e. when I screw my nose
up the skin is a bit crackly, but there are no flakes as such…
One of the reasons I carried on using steroid creams is because when I
stopped using them, I’d have a flare-up pretty much the next day, and
always within two days. I simply thought that my skin needed this
cream to carry on maintaining the condition, and didn’t really
question it because ti was my dermatologist who prescribed the sterpid
creams in the first place.
