Newbie here
Hi,
I’m 25 and was diagnosed with sebderm in late Jan 2005 by my
dermatologist. He put me on a regimen of Ketonconazole, Lorprox
shampoo and Desonide cream. Even though I applied the medications
religiously, the stuff never fully supressed the condition–there was
always a few flakes and dull redness to my face.
I recently ditched the prescriptions and moved on to trying organic
aloe vera gel (twice a day on my face/4 tablespoons ingested per day).
While I’m only on day 3 of this approach, and have yet to see results,
I’m hoping that this will be more effective than prescription
medicines. I’d like to know if anyone else has gone this route and, if
so, what sort of success have you had?
Lastly, I’d like to ask if anyone with sebderm has trouble tanning? I
know it’s a weird question but despite my name I’m fully Hispanic and
while my normal color is a dark brown, my face and chest refuse to tan
(my arms, back of my neck and legs tan normally). I was wondering if
there’s a link between sebderm and lack of an ability to tan? Any
advice or anecdotes would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks a lot

ive heard of not tanning in the chest area because of Tinea
Versicolor.
you may have a bad case of it.
(do google searches on it and look at pictures)
the yeast blocks UV tanning rays.
i also have sebderm with tinea versicolor.im being treated for it,
and i think they are related.overgrowth of yeasts in the body.
if i cure it ill tell you what i did.I can tell u so far that i was
given a two week treatment of Sporanox for it and it helped my
sebderm also.
i bet that same fungus is on your face.maybe you may have yeast
syndrome.
the dermatologist can shine a ultraviolet light on you and it will
show up.
