Boswellia

Saturday, November 12th, 2005

Hi,
Boswellia continues to work very well for me. Along with vitamin B5 it
has reduced the sebum on my skin and reduced the redness as well.
During the day I use Dermadoctor’s Tease Zone to dry up the oil on my
face. Works great for me. I’m not using any topicals right now. Let me
know if you have any questions.

Brewer’s Yeast

Thursday, November 10th, 2005

I’ve been taking Brewers Yeast supplements on the recommendation of
someone on the psoriasis newsgroup (I have psoriasis too) for the
benefit of nail psoriasis.

and it mentions yeasts, including Brewers Yeast, making SD worse.
This would make sense as my own SD has been worse. Awful thought that
I might have been making my own situation worse, LOL.

Anyone taken Brewer’s Yeast and noticed any effects on their SD either
+ or -.

Efalith (Topical Lithium)

Thursday, November 10th, 2005

Thinking of asking my GP for this as Nizoral Cream and the selenium
sulphide shampoo I’ve been using around my nose are increasingly
ineffective.
Surprisingly, I could find no mention of this searching the archive
for this group.
Has *anyone* out there used this stuff before?

Has anyone been to a Eczema/Dermatitis patience conference?

Wednesday, November 9th, 2005

Hey everyone!

One day I came across a website last year (www.nationaleczema.org) and
on this website it mentioned about their National Eczema Association
of Science and Education Patient Conference that was taking place in
summer. I was just wondering if anyone had been to this particular
conference or something similar and if you could just share your
experience with me (what takes place at these conferences? Is it
useful? would you recommend it?). I know that they are offering
another one this summer and it is in California (sometime in August)
and I’m just toying with the idea of going. I live in Canada and we
don’t have anything like that here, so if I want to find out about new
medications that have come out I usually have to research it on the
internet. I just thought maybe the conference could provide me with
some up-to-date information with regard to what is happening with

anyone try the raw honey treatment ???

Monday, November 7th, 2005

ive tried the treatment as described in a Medline entry from
Dubai.

I did find the flakyness to abate but it seems i’m getting acne.

Honey i’m using is "honey in the rough"
it also has some granules in it that can be abrasive when gently
rubbing it in.

is Manuka honey from New zealand better ?
certainly more expensive.

Treatments that are working for me

Monday, November 7th, 2005

Here is my list of treatments…

Listerine (or Equate) and Q-tips or cotton balls:
Soak a couple of q-tips with Listerine. I use a copy-cat product
sold at Wal-Mart called: Equate. It’s an Antiseptic mouth rinse.
Gently apply a q-tip over affected areas avoiding your eyes. This
quick treatment should stop any pain associated with inflamed SD.
The Antiseptic will also dissolve any sebaceous oil that’s caked up
on and around the nose, side of face, the eyebrows, mustache and the
skin behind the ears.

Shampoo:
I’ve been using: P&S Shampoo. It’s a Seborrheic Dermatitis and
Psoriasis Shampoo. I found it to be very gentle.
