    Hi,

my SD consists of mostly excess oil on my face. Because of that
oilyness I still(i’m 22) get a few but regular acne.

However, recently I ordered B5 and after 3-4 days reduced my oilyness
drastically. Consequently, it IMPROVED my SD( meaning: less oil,
tighter pores, more "stable" skin) and also the acne I regulary get(
no new pimples, the existing ones dried up). I take 5 grams a day. I
recommend B5 to everyone that have a "mixture" of problem of seborrea
    and acne!

To everyone that takes B5: How much do you take, and do you take it
throughout the day. Also are TR tablets more effective than regular ones?

    Hope this helps.

Hey ice and Enf and Charlls
thanks for replying:) and BTW, ice and Enf,is the B5 you
all take a vitamin capsule ?

    Hi,
Glad to hear that B5 is working for someone else. I take 7500mgs per
day, which is 5 pills three times a day. For me, it took two or three
weeks to notice the effects. I order mine from www.b5supplements.com
I had diarrhea for a little while after starting the b5, but it went
away after a couple of weeks. I never got any headaches. My doctors
have said that it’s fine to take b5 in these doses because it’s water
soluble and will not affect the liver. I also take 3 boswellia pills
per day, which further reduces the oiliness. Dermadoctor Tease Zone Oil
Control Gel helps control the oil during the day. I’m currently using
no antifungal or steroid creams on my skin.

yes the B5 is a vitamin capsule

  6. Ivan Juliann Says:

with all the stuff you take for the oil
how do you know the B5 works ?

  7. Neva Marjory Says:

Good question. I started it two years ago and for a while that was
all I was using. It cut the oil by about 60%. When I added the
boswellia it cut the oil an additional 20% or so.
A couple of times I’ve reduced the B5 dosage and noticed an increase
in oil. It’s not scientific proof, just my experience.
I don’t know that it works for everyone, but it has definitely helped
    me.

    Hello Tim,
Whats the boswellia you are talking about? A vitamin or drug?
Thanks for sharing your experience. I wash my face at noon to control
the oil but i would try out B5.

  9. Neva Marjory Says:

It’s boswellia serrata, an extract from some tree in India. I get it at
my local co-op, but it’s available on the internet too.

  10. Neva Marjory Says:

    hi,

yes it is a vitamin from the vitamin b family group. Vitamin B5 is
    also known as Pantothenic acid.

    Hey Tim thanks!
I noticed that you were here for a few years already!
First msg too! Do you still get flares?

  12. Neva Marjory Says:

I still have some redness, but the oiliness is way down thanks to
boswellia and b5. I don’t think I ever really got "flares". My seb derm
has been pretty constant. It would improve when I used Nizoral or
selenium sulfide, but it always went back after those treatments lost
their effectiveness. I hope that the benefits of my internal treatment
will last longer. How are you doing?
    Tim

  13. Neva Marjory Says:

Im fine actually and i have been in remission for 37 days already.
Only having very oily skin which i would try B5.
    Nice to know you!
