Hi Mads,
Yes, my boswellia pills are 300mgs. I don't know about the curcuma
longa. I also don't know how boswellia reduces sebum, but that's what
it seems to be doing for me.
I am going in for some blood tests next week just to make sure the
supplements I'm taking aren't causing any problems.

Hi,
I bought the product Bet-Vec, which contains 300 mg Boswellia (65 %
guaranteed boswellic acid) and 300 mg curcuma longa (95 % curcuminoids
guaranteed). This product was the only one they had with Boswellia,
and I am going to take 1 capsules 3 times pr day at first. But it was
interesting that it also contains curcuma longa, since this substance
has a well documented anti-inflammatory effect as well.

Do you prescribe an anti-inflammatory effect as well as an anti-sebum
effect from Boswellia? Do you know how boswellia has an anti-sebum
effect? I can appreciate that it has an anti-inflammatory effect due
to influencing the inflamation pathways, but I am curious how it works
to reduce sebum, if it has that property.

Best wishes,
<!--more-->

I'm not sure how many mgs the boswellia pills are. I'll check tonight
and let you know. I didn't find any irritation with the Tease Zone gel.
In fact, it feels good going on and I'm noticing less redness. Maybe
you could try Clinac OC. It has the same active ingredient, but may be
less irritating for you. I avoid the sun - hats, sunscreen, shade, etc.

Hi Tim,
I am going to try Boswellia, so I am going to the store to get it today.
I was wondering, how many mgs are the pills you are taking?

I did try the Tease Zone gel from Dermadoctor, but the verdict is not
out yet. Do you in any way feel that the gel irritates the skin or
makes it redder?

One thing, what is your experience with sun light?

Thanks,
Mads

I just use a Clean and Clear Oil Absorbing Sheet to wipe off any excess
oil, then reapply the t-zone. It's easy and works great.

Thanks for the reply.
One more question, if you do not mind.
When sebum returns after 3 hours what do you then? Reapply or wash face
and then reapply?

Thank you,

Yes, I take one boswellia pill three times a day with meals. I
believe that the B5 reduced my sebum by 60% and the boswellia has
reduced it a further 25%. The t-zone gel keeps my face oil-free for
about 3 hours or so. I don't find it irritating at all and it is very
easy to apply. Clinac OC also works, but it smells more like medicine
and it's a little chalkier. The t-zone stuff is very smooth.
I also believe that the boswellia has reduced my redness/inflammation
by about half. It may not work for everyone, but it is definitely
helping me.
I plan to take some blood tests this summer to make sure that these
supplements aren't causing me any internal problems.

Hi,
Do you take Boswellia orally? How much has it reduced your seb derm?
Also, when you apply the t-zone gel from Dermadoctor, does it keep
sebum away through the whole day, and does it in any way cause
irriatation to the skin?

Thanks
