I’m thinking about trying oral Itraconazole. Below is
a link to an abstract of a recent study:
How many, if any of you have tried oral Itraconazole
(Sporanox)?
HI Jen,
I would be interested if you have any progress with the Salcura.James
Hey, I was wondering if there is consensus in regards to certain
foods in relation to SD. Specifically, pasta and fruits like
berries. I understand sugars in general should be avoided
(especially sweetened snacks) but does that go for all carbohydrates
in general. Do high starch foods present problems? And what about
fructose in fruit? When people talk about sugars, I’m still not
clear on all that it encompasses. As always, any help is greatly
appreciated.
Hey!
I remember someone in this forum mentioned that he was taking
Probiotics and I wondered if it works. I read in this article (about
Eczema) that people believe Probiotics reduces imflammation of the
skin (due to increasing "good" bacteria in our system). Has anyone who
is takings this or knows something about this topic enlighten me.
Good/bad/does nothing?
Cheers,
Sonia
hey folks
I’ve been going through some of last years posts and was curious
wheather people who used Ovace gel and/or cream found it to be useful
in reducing the SD and imflammation of the skin?
I thought I read somewhere that you need a prescription. How exactly
does that work if I don’t live in the US (and the company that sells
this product is)? On the website there is a order number for the gel,
but I don’t see an actual ordering form. I’ve never ordered ANYTHING
online before so this is new.
Just need some clarification
thanks

OK, try taking over the counter statins (Zocor in
Europe, Lipitor in the USA), the cholesterol lowering
drug(1 per day) and pantethine(300-1200mg per day,
from a health store). Not for the cholesterol lowring
effect but for the effect on blocking adrenaline and
noradrenaline. In Europe at least simvastatin is OTC
in USA I am not sure, else show your doc the
supporting evidence and ask him to try you on it.
If you are interested on why, then read the very
technical pdf doc downloadable link below. You may
want to go straight to page 36 to get the conclusion,
and note the abbreviations listed on page 2.
It is based on the fact that catecholamines(adrenaline

Anyone had any luck using Novacet. Apparently it is the same as
Klaron (sodium sulfacetamide, but with sulfur added.)

How do facial sebum- reducing products work?
A. Many skincare products on the market today contain ingredients
that claim to decrease facial sebum. Sometimes it is unclear from the
label whether the appearance of sebum is reduced or whether the
production of sebum is decreased. One mechanism for reducing the
appearance of facial oil is to adsorb the sebum into 1-micron to 30-
micron diameter polymer spheres composed of three monomers: isobornyl
methacrylate (IBMA), lauryl methacrylate (LMA), and divinylbenzene
(DVB). The DVB serves to crosslink the IBMA and LMA to form a three-
dimensional copolymer network capable of absorbing liquid oil-soluble
substances.
The sebum is absorbed by the polymer through imbibition, since the
oil can be absorbed but not released. This is due to the sebum being
held inside the polymer with Van der Waals forces, creating a strong

Here’s a tip for oily skin - Dermadoctor Tease Zone Gel - it’s very
effective in drying up the oil on my skin, at least for a few hours
at a time. It’s supposed to have "sebum sequestering microparticles"
in it that encapsulate the oil and keep it off the skin. It’s a
little bit drying, but generally it feels and smells good. It’s
expensive $30 or so, but worth it. It’s supposed to be better than
Clinac OC, but I haven’t tried it yet.
Has anyone else tried this???
