I started having a seborheic dermatitis when I was 23, after my acne was almost gone. I started using different shampoos (some French ones like bioderma) but it got worse and took new areas, the forehead, the nose and some spots on one cheek and near the mouth. I think the shampoos, especially the French ones only makes things worse, at the long term, aftter having a temporary releaf. Even they cause new areas to flare up.

1)I stopped using champoos, I do not wash my face with soap or other things, rarely get it wet and without rubbing.

    2) But I thing that I started eating honey (natural without any additives) for 1 week 3-4 slices of bread with honey and at least 2 of them before going to bed. It helped my intestines very much, I felt it working in my intestines. But only one week I ate honey. I eat it now rarely. Honey is dangerous for the hazard of diabetis (sugar desease) and you should
consult a doctor before using it.

6 months have passed since my last flare up, it is almost gone (not seen from others) and my dandruf(wich I had from childhood) is taken to a minimum (to a point that it is not seen from others). This is my story, these 2 things helped me and I hope it will continue, but I believe that it is individual matter and I do not know how they will affect you.

Hi Mike,
Sounds like good advice my friend. I do think that in my own case
stress was the factor that triggered seb derm, so I would say that
avoiding stress is a good thing trying to reduce the symptoms.
I like walking in nature and things like that. Praying sounds like a
good way to get to base line too.

You say you use aloe vera gel. Aloe vera gel can be helpful in seb derm
cases.
I would also mention the DRL lotion from Cutanix, preferrably the
sensitive skin version. I use it in the evening, and then I apply it
again a few hour before getting up in the morning, and then I wash my
face when I get up to remove any oilyness on my face.
I do was my face with clean water a couple of times duirng the day to
get away sebum.
