New Here
Hey, whats up everyone. I had sd for about a year now. I tried
everything and found out that the sun works the best for me. It
clears my forehead up right away. I think sd follows along the same
line as psoriasis in the skin shedding part anyway. Many people with
psoriasis find that it clears in the summer because of the sun. I
heard the sun inhibits cell proliferation. Cya

Hi, Im new here too! I have had sebderm for about 6 years and within the last 6
months it has gotten worse after taking atibiotics, and from stress. I am having
good luck right now with Elidel, Ketoconazole cream, and scrubbing face with
salycilic acid pads. I have no more flaky skin, but some redness does remain no
matter what I do. Anyone have luck with tea tree oil? I put it on my face for
one day, and could not stand the smell of it, it drove me insane. Also steroid
creams work great, but leave seems to age my skin fast. I have always been prone
to athletes foot, and had peeling on my hands in the past when I was younger. I
believe that my sebderm is related to candida, due to megadoses of antibiotics I
recieved while I had spinal menengitis. At that time I was 8, now 29.
All of the shampoos keto, salycilic, zinc, selenium seem to irritate my face and
make the skin tight, although it does keep the skin from flaking. I have a
script for sporanox, but afraid to take it due to the risks. any input is
appreciated.
Andy

this skin problem.

There is no pressure at all in this group. The posters are generally
friendly and will offer encouragement. We all have stories about our
trials with seb derm and would certainly be welcoming in hearing yours.
