Aramis Laser

Wednesday, September 28th, 2005

Clinical studies both in Europe and the U.S. conclude that the Aramis
Laser treats the source of acne by altering the sebaceous gland. It
reduces sebum production and sterilizes the target, clearing acne and
minimizing its recurrence. Each individual treatment results in an
approximate 25% improvement with optimal results after just four
treatments — each at two- week intervals. Patient satisfaction is
high with no evidence of side effects, edema, erythema and no pain.
Patients also noticed an overall improvement in the appearance of the
skin.

Any thoughts on this?

TU-2100 - A Novel Topical Sebostatic Preparation
Tamarkin Pharmaceutical Innovation (2 February 2000)

Author: Dov Tamarkin, Ph.D.

ABSTRACT

There is currently no topical therapy to influence the production of
sebum and thus, the treatment of oily skin and seborrhea still
remains an unmet need. TU-2100 is a novel pro-drug, composed of
azelaic acid and ethyl salicylate, which was designed to penetrate
the pilosebaceous unit and control sebum production. In effort to
test the safety and efficacy of this agent, TU-2100 10% lotion was
applied twice daily for 8 weeks to the face of ten women with oily
skin. Sebum excretion rates declined by 30-44%, reaching normal

My ACV treatment for those asking

Monday, September 26th, 2005

Wow,
I’ve been away for a few days and I see many have questions about my
ACV success. I’ll do my best to answer, but please keep in mind, I’m
no MD and this is my own experience. I’m not an attention seeker,
and I have no hidden agenda. I’m not promoting, pimping, or selling
ANY idea. This is simply based on what worked for me!

First and foremost ACV is a very strong, so trial and error and
adjustments throughout the therapy will be needed. Also, if you are
not willing to make sacrifices, change your diet and lifestyle, then
this plan is a worthless waist of time!

As for diet, to sum it up in brief: I basically ate nothing but
organic "live" foods for 5 weeks and am still maintaining this diet
at about a 90% rate. I ate fresh fruits although very limited, no

Has anyone used a moisturizer after applying Edidel?

Hello Group

Sunday, September 25th, 2005

,

Tim invited me to post here every once in a while. Seb derm is not
my specialty, but I do see a lot of cases with it overlapping
rosacea. The below article is very useful if you can get your hands
on the original paper. I will be meandering in here from time to
time to learn from you folks and hopefully help keep everyone
abreast of all the latest treatments.

I know this has probably been covered to death (I have not had a
chance to read all the posts), but the number one treatment by far
is oral antifungals. The number one reason they may fail is because
a patient stops too soon or does not pulse dose every 6 months to
remain in remission. Just be sure to monitor your liver enzymes if
you go this route.

DermaDoctor Oil Control

Saturday, September 24th, 2005

Hi,
I just started using Derma Doctor’s Tease Zone Oil Control Gel. It
works very well to dry up the excess oil without drying out the skin.
Apparently it uses "sebum sequestering oil control particles" to
capture the sebum. Whatever that means. Still it seems to work pretty
well. I’ve read that many people prefer it to Clinac OC. It’s
available on the dermadoctor.com website. It’s not cheap, ($30), but
it does work.
By the way, I thought the Azoline announcement would generate a
little more excitement on the site. It could be the holy grail! Or
maybe that’s just wishful thinking.

Maybe nothing might help

Saturday, September 24th, 2005

For the past year I have tried everything-p. zinc, selenium sulfide,
ketocanzole, washing my face with everything I could. At first I
could not stand the white flakes so I moisturized like crazy and
washed my face with everything. I was in a panic. I think that made
it worse. Then the red inflammation started-screw that! I will take
the flakes any day! This is my regimin now-my face is so much clearer:
I still use a one time application of nizarol every 3-4 weeks which
probably keeps it in check. I threw out all of my old moisturizers
and I put nothing on my face and it looks 90% better. Beleive me I
would not be telling you this if I did not think it would help. I
felt like I was in hell. Not anymore I have learned to live with this
small inconvienece. Here are a few things that helped me get a grip:

-Not taking a super hot shower, use luke warm/cool water when washing
the sensitive parts of your face and scalp.

Azoline: More from Barrier Therapeutics

Friday, September 23rd, 2005

I just spoke with the public relations department at BT this morning.
They said that their Phase IIB dose-ranging trials will begin in the
United States in late 2005. If everything goes well, they expect to
begin their long-range Phase III trials in 2007. Azoline could be
approved as early as 2008.
Their ketoconazole gel, Sebazole, has completed all trials and should
be available in 2006.
Their also working on Hyphanox, which is a once per day tablet form
of itraconazole.
The woman I spoke with suggested I speak with the company’s head of
marketing. So, if you have any questions you would like me to ask
him, I will do so and print a transcript of our conversation.
I suggested that if they are looking for subjects for their trials,
we have a group of 300+ from all around the country who would
probably be willing to participate.

6 weeks no redness, not a flake to be found!

Wednesday, September 21st, 2005

Well all,
I’m happy to report that after 6 weeks since starting the ACV
treatment and diet along with threelac, I have absolutely not flaes,
redness or dandruff any of kind anywhere to be found. I have not had
to use anything on my scap, not even one flake to be found, even
when i rub my head and shake my hair, nothing! My facial skin is
still smooth and silky. I’m simply amazed that after 12 years of
suffering, I have totally cleared this pesty problem for good.

All you fine people using chemicals, steriods, lotions and potions
really don’t know what you’re missing out on. I’ve also lost 16
pounds over the past 6 weeks due to the diet. What’s most amazing is
ive suffered from daily dandruff with no intermission since i was 15
and facial seborrheic dermatitis for the past several years and it’s
all gone.
