acid mantle cream

Wednesday, July 20th, 2005

i have had rosacea for 30 some years, then about 13 yrs ago, my
forehead (which had always been clear) developed itchy pimples. i
also had the flaking around eyebrows, nose. Derm. put me on a
steroid and topical antiobiotic, which cleared up the forehead like
magic.

a couple of yrs. ago i was made aware that i had been on the steroid
too long. with help, i weaned off of it and used elidel. when
completely off the steroid, i developed major flaking/scaling,
redness, itching, (really got worse as cold weather came) the elidel
did not help. every derm. visit we tried something new. no luck. i
tried the ovace and pramasone, only made itching worse, no help to
flaking. hydrocortisone barely kept it under control.

i was about to make a phone call to derm for something else, when i

An update

Howdy!

Well, here I am, lasered once again! I’ve just had my third V-beam
appointment and this time the "damage" isn’t near what it was after
the first and second time. The improvement is pretty clear. My skin
has become a whole lot tougher and I hope it will pass the ultimate
test at the end on January when I’ll be working outside a great deal
during the night for two weeks, and it’s pretty cold out there!

I also continue to take probiotics and threelac, I’m into my third
day on threelac, so it’s a bit early to tell if it’s doing something,
but as always - I’ll keep you guys posted!

Oh yeah, and I had my first "flare" for several months a few days
ago, I had a few flakes appearing here and there on my face after

Help with the oily skin

Monday, July 18th, 2005

Hi

Has anyone encountered a way of reducing/controlling the excessive
amount of sebum on the sebderm areas( other than accutane ). What are
the options? Do you think diet affect this?

I have noticed that my skin is more oily when I have irregular sleep
cycles and when I am under stress.

Oily skin is the only thing I cannot put under control from the
sebderm symptoms. It looks quite bad under neon lights.

Hear from you soon,
Ice

re probiotics

Monday, July 18th, 2005

even though threelac is just a probiotic, as I understand when
researching it on the internet it is unique in that it somehow
protected from the stomach acids and therefore gets striaght to the
intestines. Others maybe do this primal defense is a popular one, but
when researching it was clear that htreelac packed a much harder
punch. I can’t see how probiotics and threelac would disrupt each
other. But i’m no expert. But as they are working in the same
direction logic tells me it isn’t a problem to take both, but as you
hopefully see the threlac working, you may want to stop taking the
other to see how effective it is on it’s own. james

re symptoms

Thursday, July 14th, 2005

I don’t think I have any major symptoms. I can be a bit lethergic and
a lacking cocentration but I always put this down to mild depression
and constant itching caused by having to deal with the
dermatitis.james

sorry

reene,

I didn’t properly read you message, very busy. Yeah evrything you
said was great. Probably look into that other probiotic but at moment
i don’t want to do anything different until I see how far my symptoms
are resolved. I realise I’m not inventing the wheel, really just
linking Candida, and a really effective product for it. Though I
don’t really think this information is currebtly out their on the web
generally. So it needs a few forums to really get the message out.
Though maybe this stuff has been known for a while. I found a
research paper linking Cradle cap (infant seb) with candida from at
least 10 years ago, so maybe this stuff just dosen’t get out.james

trust me

I’m an expert, in web research on the subject. Walt is
great, most of the advice I have given previously on the site is from
his, ie jojoba oil. He does say it relates to leaky gut and suggests
something called skilled relaxation. But don’t you want to try it out
for your self, I feel a bit humoured rather than believed, forgive me
if I am wrong. I will get over to the site but I work constantly on
an intensive bible school in uk and so have very little time to write
mail, but doing so in my breaks. Hopefully a few of you will try it,
find hopefully it works for you and then news will very quikly get
around i think, I hope!james
