Apple cider reaction
I hope it’s okay to post here again? Anyhow, just a few more
observations and comments. Do any of you who suffer with SD on the
face ever notice how you can see fainly those red cirle spots after
treatment? It’s like the faint behind the scenes left overs from the
red areas. Well after washing my face and applying the apple cider
vinegar, my face lit up like a christmas tree! Those once faint red
blotches that sort of were "behind" the scene have exploded to the
surface. Does this mean the therapy is having an affect? The
blotches are sort of getting just a bit scaly and it’s as if they
are being activated but perhaps in a good way since soaking them in
the vinegar. Has anyone else had this affect? It looks as if i added
something to bring out the infected areas. Thanks in advance for any
help anyone can offer. I just want to make sure i’m not chewing up
my face, because man it sure looks like. I had to stay indoor all
day, or people might think I had leporacy or something.
Thanks,
Kevin

Kevin,
You’ll be fine, Apple cider vinegar has cleared my SD and I went
through the angry lobster reaction too! ( I had SD for about ten
years and used steriod (hydrocortisone) creams for the last three
years which absolutely stuffed my face, but I’m back to normal now
and have a brand new outlook on life! )
You’ll find a lot of very supportive people who have been through the
same clearing process and who are willing to answer any questions you
have about what to expect. The clearing process with ACV can be very
tough, especially if you have been using chemicals previously but
with patenience and the right attitude you’ll get through it! Trust
me it’s worth the effort!
Good luck, Scott.
ps. there are fantastically supportive people in this group too, but
the other group specialises in ACV self treatment and most of it’s
members have survived the red spots and lobster face that you
mentioned in your post.

Hello Scott,
Thanks very much for taking the time to write back. I joined the
other group you mentioned and have sent two posts, both of which
have not showed up. I think i’m going to opt out of that group as
I’ve spent about 14 hours reading through the forum and have found
something quite obvious. The forum moderator is playing absolute
dictator over any and all posts. She has turned off email because
she likely is about half the posters to this forum and knows that if
people can receive emails then IP addresses would be displayed. I
used a program to enter in the posts and it came up with a 98%
likelyhood that 16 different people were like the ame poster. Not
good, anyone who complains or has issues with the treatment, or is a
non success, she forbids from posting. This is disgusting in my
opinion. I think any good scientific medical evaluation MUST include
all outcomes, good bad, or somewhere in the middle. It’s as if she
is going to prove her method works 100% of the time and that’s it.
This is bad and misleading in my opinion as nothing is ever 100%
functional for eveyone.
On a brighter note, I’m sticking to my ACV therapy. I’m still not
conviced that what is happening is good, but one thing for sure,
SOMETHING is happening. My face is now starting to get crusted where
the spots of SD were. I’m not sure if i should keep dousing or hold-
off at this point in time. My scalp is flake free and clear and I
have not used anything but regular shampoo and vinegar for four days
now. So it is working there.
What is so strange to me, is how this vinegar therapy causes those
underling SD spots to come to the surface. I’ve always been able to
keep the SD on my face in check by applying head and shoulder to my
face and letting it rest there for 10 minutes then rinsing, but when
i looked closely in the mirror, i could still see the very faint
blotches where the flare-ups had been. When the vinegar kicked in,
those spots became lit-up and are now crusting up. So you say this
is good? I hope so.
How long before it goes away and the new skin comes through? I
should mention I have never used steroids and would consider myself
to have moderate SD. Although just last month it popped up under my
arm, in the armpit. At least that is what I think, why is it
advancing, is this normal? For the past 18 years, it just been
dandruff on my scalp, then last year it advanced to my face and not
my underarm? Has this been the course for anyone else?
Sincerely,
Kevin

Vinegar is a well known treatment for seborrheic dogs. It is
antifungal. Often used with boric acid 2%. I used this for a while a
few years back, had clearing and then slowly it stopped working. As
so many of the treatments do. I read the intro on the acvm group and
was not convinced. I think the real treatment for SD is to stimulate
the immune system towards a cell mediated TH1 response. ie stimulate
interferon-gamma and IL-2. Vit E(>1000iu), selenium, boswellia,
zinc, Vit C all help. SD is a disease of increased oxidation load
and an immune dysfunction towards humoral TH2. B vitamins may also
be of help. A difficult disease.

While I agree getting to the root of the underlying illness that is
causing SD is best and eventually needed. ACV will control the SD
indefinitely. The problem is 95% of people are not willing to adhere
to such strict regular dowsing of the ACV due to discomfort, smell
and the hassle. Most people either quit right when they start the
routine, or get results, then sway from it allowing the SD to come
back.
If you were to achieve results by clearing the SD using ACV and use
daily for the rest of your life the SD would stay in check for sure.
SD is not a bacteria, it’s not like when you don’t complete an
antibiotic and the bacteria comes back stronger, it basically is
what it is and can be fought using the same method for years. ACV
creates a "skin environment" that is impossible for the SD to dwell,
thus using it daily will prevent it from coming back, for as long as
you maintain the strict routine!

even the vinegar man says that acv will lose effectiveness after a
period of time. he suggests that the diet is the key to allow the
vinegar to work for long periods

that i dont know, but i think it could be months or longer. i think
the vinegar man would suggest that it depends on how bad ones diet is.
