Loprox
Hi,
I tried Loprox a couple of years ago. At the time my skin was very
oily, so it didn’t work too well. My theory is that it couldn’t get
past the oil to work on my skin. Now that my skin is less oily,
because of vitamin B5, I might give it another try. It’s supposed to
have antifungal effects similar to Nizoral.

Is anyone out there using Loprox shampoo? Is it available in the
United States? I was prescribed the Loprox ointment which is .77
concentration of ciclopiroxolamine. Apparently there is a lotion and
shampoo that are 1.00 concentration. Is anyone using these? How are
the results?
Thanks,
Tim

Hi Tim,
I’ve tried the shampoo but it was a bit to harsh for me and made me
get these red bumps. I think it was the additional ingredients that
didn’t agree with my skin. I’m very interested in trying the
ointment though.

Ive been using the loprox cream 1% on my face for almost a year now
with excellent results. I also have rosacea but the cream does not
seem to cause any problems with that. Maybe because I use spot
treatment I can easily determine whats rosacea and whats sebderm
just by applying the cream.

Thanks for the info. So your doctor was able to prescribe the 1.0
concentration? My doctor said she could only do the .77 lotion, not
the 1.0 lotion or shampoo. You live in America right?
Maybe she wanted me to try the lower concentration first. Who knows.
Has anyone tried buying these types of things from Canada or Mexico?
Thanks,
Tim
