SD Worse in Winter!
Hey everyone,
I just have a quick question. I know my SD is worse in winter and
more itchy. I was wondering if anybody takes some kind of oral
medication to reduce the itchyness???? I heard that some people can
take such a thing, but I don’t know what it is called or if it
actually does reduce the itchyness. I just don’t know how else
to "control" the itch without medicated creams (i.e. 1%
hydrocortisone creams). Any suggestions or comments?
Thanks a bunch,
Sonia

a note for sonia. I currently use jojoba oil. not only does it take the itch
away it is very similar to natural oil on face and holds back sd better than
anything i have used, other than stong steroids. Please try it you wont be
disapointed.james

The Vitamin Shoppe chain carries jojoba–like $7 for a bottle that will last
months–good quality as well

I use vinegar on my scalp only to control itching. I use jojoba as a facial
moisturizer to help with flakiness on forehead and around nose and mouth.
I don’t use jojoba on open, oozing seb derm patches that are inflamed–for
that I use Protopic followed ten minutes later with Ovace gel–this combo
really seems to reduce the inflammation
