Tuesday, March 15th, 2005

Have you heard of that company ?
It’s supposed to be one of the biggest companies offering different
products based on aloe vera.
I found out that they have stores in Bulgaria and i’ll probably buy
the aloe vera gel that they are selling. But fisrt i wanted to ask
you guys if you have heard of that company or used any of it’s
products.

Im thinking of getting one of those :

Hi, I’m new!

Saturday, March 12th, 2005

Hello, everyone!

First I must appologize for any potential spelling errors, Eng. is
not my native language.Thank you.

For the past 6 years or so, I had this mild red rash on the sides on
the nose.I though it was SD,but I’m not sure anymore. I found a
cream in the medicine cabinet, Hydrocortisone 1%, that worked like a
charm. But here is the problem:
I must use it once every week, if I dont , my skin burns and itches
wanting the dose of the steroid. I think my skin is addicted to the
cream. Has anyone had experience with long-term use of
Hydrocortisone?
My rash affect, the areas around my nose, typical for Seb.Derm., but
it is not scaly. It flakes almost never. I’ve tried to cut down the

dry lips

Friday, March 11th, 2005

Hey everyone,

I’ve had SD for about three years and after the first year of having
SD I noticed that my lips got pretty dry in some areas. I was
wondering does anyone else have dry lips? I can feel it especially
in the winter time. The only thing the doctor gave me was a lip balm
called Blistex which is for dry lips. It works OK, but does anyone
have any suggestions?

Thanks

Sonia

I have just begun testing this out for the past two days. It is
supposedly a powerful natural antifungal. I make tea out of it. It
smells good. I am pouring it on my scalp and drinking it. I will
let the group know how it goes.

My story - for what it’s worth

Tuesday, March 8th, 2005

Hello, good people. I am a 33 year old man from England I have been
reading through the message archive with much interest and sympathy.

I thought that maybe I’d tell you about my personal skin experiences
and how they coincide with you guys.

As a youth and early teenager I had no skin problems whatsoever. At
around 15 I developed moderate acne, which worsened as I got older.
Looking back on it now with the wonderful but worthless gift of
hindsight, I realise that my condition wasn’t particularly that bad,
but as an introverted and angst ridden teen, I became obsessive about
it. At 17 I was prescribed Oxytetracycline for my spots, and although
they initially reduced the overall inflammation noticeably, after a
while they seemed to have little effect. I persisted with them as I
was told that they were a long term treatment. After a few months

The Age Poll

Monday, March 7th, 2005

To All,
Not sure if you have viewed the poll on age on this site recently,
but there are now 53 votes on there, which I think is a very good
response rate.

I encourage anyone who has not participated to do so when you have
time.

I think the results can be read a few different ways and I find them
quite interesting. Here is the summary:

Age–Votes–Percentage of Voters
<14 0 0.00%
15-20 5 9.43%
21-26 15 28.30%

Burning eyes ?

Friday, March 4th, 2005

Hi All

I have this wierd burning in my eyes , so i want to ask if any of you
has the same symptoms and how do you treat them.

The symptoms are :

- Eyes burning almost 24/7 , but the burning is "mild" with
occasional episodes of really intense burning. I’ve found out that
diffirent triggers can cause the intense burning in the eyes and one
of them that works almost everytime is - entering a car which has
stood in the sun for a couple of hours and the air inside has gotten
really hot … my eyes start to feel like they are on fire and i have
to close them.Another trigger is working out. Most of the triggers are
the same as the Rosacea triggers , but i can get the burning thing

Oral antifungal bad for papulas/rosacea?

Thursday, March 3rd, 2005

Hi, a question from Holland, ones more.
I wonder if anybody can tell me if an oral antifungal like sporanox
might cause more red papulas and spots.. I´ve got rosacea, acne and
seb derm, and the last seems to get worse lately. Because of the
rosacea and superirritated skin I can´t use topical creams to combat
it and as my cheeks are getting yellow and flaky and more inflamed
and ´spotty´ lately, I´m thinking of using the Sporanox my derm gave
me. But I don´t want to use it ´unprepared´, as with the doxycycline
I used a while ago for three months and which gave me far worse seb
derm (I didn´t realize that in front..). So: could it be possible
that a course of antifungal medicine gives me more papulas, redness
and rosaceaproblems?
I´m on a death spot at the moment, and something has to be done,
after three months doing nothing and seeing (and feeling) things
getting worse and worse.

seb derm/ rosacea 2:

Tuesday, March 1st, 2005

Hi, Natalja here again:

I forgot something: I earlier got oral metronidazol from my doc. He
thought it would battle my rosacea AND the seb derm. But I didn´t
dare to start with it, since I doubt if it will really attack the
fungus..I had worse seb derm BECAUSE of antibiotics (for 3 months)
and don´t want to go in any more reverse from this point. I also
couldn´t find any info on the internet about seb derm and the fungal
that cuses it primarily and oral metronidazol.. Does anybody on this
board know about oral metronidazol and if it works for seb derm or
pityrosporum folliculitis?
Thanks millions, Natalja
