Hey Mads
I recall you mentioning you were (are?) in the army and you were
using some topical treatment not available in the US. Are you still
using it and what was it? If you’re still in the army are you going
to have to go to Iraq? I read that Denmark and the Netherlands had
a contingent there. I image the climate would be really bad on SD.

Hi,
I used to use a lotion that was made by a homeopath in Bergen,
Norway, it was called Tyroler lotion. It is available in health
stores in parts of Norway I think. The bottle said it helped restore
the natural flora of the skin. I have not used it for a few years. I
went over to using the Cutanix DRL. I dont use it anymore. I just use
a aloe vera gel. I just started 10 mg accutane 3 times a week.
It might be that I try a bottle of the Tyroler Lotion again, I dont
know how it would work when the accutane kicks in and the skin gets
normalised. I do think it is one of the better lotions out there.
It was my dermatologist who gave it to me, he said he used to give it
to new patients who had seb derm or atopic dermatitis and such,
before trying other things.
And no, I am not in the army now. That was in 1996-97. There is one
year customary Service in Norway.
I am in the process of arranging to study physiotherapy in Holland in
the autumn, so maybe I can do my internship year in a conflict area.
But that is not until 3 years ffrom now anyways.
Are you in the army?
Best wishes,
Mads

Mads,
I’m not in the military and there is no draft here in the US, at
least not at the moment. Besides, I’m too old to be drafted even if
there was a draft.
Why did you stop using the Tyroler and later the DRL? Did they lose
effectiveness? Seems that everything for seb derm does eventually.
This disease always has the last laugh.
