Question about creams and medications

Hey everyone!

I’ve had SD for two or so years now and I’ve been trying different
medications/creams. I was wondering if anyone could tell me any of
the medications they found to be useful.

Currently I am taking Hydrocortisone 1%cream as well as Itraconazole
(pills). Has anyone heard of this regime? I just started taking both
the cream and the pills because about two months ago I found this
article that discussed a study done in Turkey. It’s
called "Itraconazole in the Treatment of Seborrheic Dermatitis: a New
Treatment Modality." It is pretty recent it came out in January 2004.
I showed the article to my doctor and said that we could try it. I
had some blood tests done to make sure I was able to take the
medication (Itraconazole). Has anyone heard of this article before???

Or is anyone on the same type of medication I am on? Or have heard
about new medications out on the market/research? I’m always trying
to find out new information from just about everyone. Any input is
welcome!!!!

Cheers,

Sonia

I beg to differ that just because you say this treatment is "curing
rosacea" that it will help or cure seb derm–the diseases are very
very different–seb derm is not a vascular condition, but an over-
    reaction by our immune system

Any scientific studies done to support that DMSO and
flucanazole "cures" rosacea or would even help seb derm or should we
just take your word for it?

I have tried both several different topical anti-fungals and oral
anit-fungals and neither are that effective at even minimizing seb
derm symptoms–I think most others on this board will agree that anti-
fungals may help somewhat with some sufferers but they not the only
    way to treat seb derm.
