Ovace Wash and Gel

Friday, February 25th, 2005

Went to the derm today and got these products, plus Rosula cleanser.
They are all sodium sulfacetamide products. Anyone have any luck
with these–the gel seems pretty good so far, no color no odor, just
a clear gel.

Thanks for any thoughts on this.

Internal Treatment

Thursday, February 24th, 2005

Good Morning group,
After experiencing life with seb derm for the past 4 years and partaking
into my own research, I have finally found a significant if not "cure" but
very effective treatment. I began seeing a chiropractor/kinseologist for 2
months now, and am experiencing EXCELLENT results. I’m on a diet of chicken
and fish, steamed vegetables, light pasta, but no soda’s or sugars, no
alchol, no tobacco, no coffee. I am also on vitamin supplements,
Salmoinic,Para,E-400,D-tox for liver, and a Probiotic. Even though this
treatment is costing me approx $130 for each 1 hour visit, I am very pleased
with the results.
The Doctor had discovered that I was allergic to black pepper, and coffee.
The Doctor also told me that besides my allergies, I had a "leaky gut
syndrome" and a "toxic liver" look those up when you guys have some time on
the internet for information. In 2 months I give my treatment 10/10. Even
the scales on my scalp have nearly dissappeared. I have not been on any

Question about creams and medications

Tuesday, February 22nd, 2005

Hey everyone!

I’ve had SD for two or so years now and I’ve been trying different
medications/creams. I was wondering if anyone could tell me any of
the medications they found to be useful.

Currently I am taking Hydrocortisone 1%cream as well as Itraconazole
(pills). Has anyone heard of this regime? I just started taking both
the cream and the pills because about two months ago I found this
article that discussed a study done in Turkey. It’s
called "Itraconazole in the Treatment of Seborrheic Dermatitis: a New
Treatment Modality." It is pretty recent it came out in January 2004.
I showed the article to my doctor and said that we could try it. I
had some blood tests done to make sure I was able to take the
medication (Itraconazole). Has anyone heard of this article before???

zinc

Monday, February 21st, 2005

hi, just wanted to post this i havent seen it posted here, but it
may have been in the past, it seem that taking zinc is important for
healthy function of the sebaceous glands and helps reduce sebum
production (well thats what the vitamin bottle says).

New Sodium Sulfacetamide Wash and Lotion

Saturday, February 19th, 2005

Wondering if anyone has tried this-it intended for acne, rosacea and
sebderm. They claim it has no alcohol and therefore less irritating than
other products.

Question about Cutanix …

Monday, February 14th, 2005

I read lots of good things about their lotions so i went to their
website to check it out.I saw that they have samples and they are
free, so i thought to myself what the hell and tried to order one.But
even though the samples are free they still need a credit card , i
guess its for the shipping , anyway , the problem is that i don’t
have a credit card and it’ll be pretty difficult to get one (that i
can use to shop from the net) in Bulgaria.
I know that lots of you have ordered free samples ,
so my question is - Is there any other way to pay for the shipping
(for example pay for it here at the post office , when it arrives) ?

seb derm/ rosacea update from Holland

Sunday, February 13th, 2005

Update from Holland.

For a couple of months now I haven’t used any moisturizer or cream on
my face, as a new dermatologist advised me. She and her supervisor
thought I don’t have rosacea, since there are hardly any broken veins
visible. The redness, blushing and burning are due to irritation from
so many (different) crèmes she thinks. She strongly advised me to
stop using anything for a while and see how my skin recovers. She
warned me that my skin might ´protest´, since I’ve used creams for so
long. It should take months before the skin creates its own
protective layer etc etc. People use moisturizers far too often in
her opinion and the problems of lots of her patients derived from
this usage of creams, in her opinion. So, I´ve been flabbergasted for
a week and have tried it for more than two months now (since march
the 5th). Soon the burning, that drove me mad for such a long time
