Do not use oral anti-biotics

Oral antibiotics can make seborrheic dermatitis flare out
of control.I know its difficult to say this especially to
those of you with acne and rosacea but most antibiotics
will reduce skin bacteria. This isnt a bad thing if you just
suffer from acne/rosacea.But when you throw seb derm into
the equation it becomes a totally different ball game.Certain
bacteria on our skin are needed. They feed on fungi and keep
a steady population on our skin.Without the bacteria seb derm
can get a whole lot worse.

i understand that but I also have acne and rosacea, not just
sebderm. It seems like what is good for one disorder exacerbates the
    other.

What am I supposed to do?

    Uggh

Remember that the acne that you have can be caused by two factors.
Rapid skin cell turnover and overactive sebaceous glands.Reduce the
sebum with high dose pantothenic acid.Your diet,no sugar, wheat, dairy
and alcohol.Find a zinc and sulpher topical that doesnt disagree with
your skin which can reduce skin cell turnover and keep the fungi at
    below normal skin density.

if you are on antibiotics you should also supplement with a lot of
probiotics, they should help to replace some of the fungus killing friendly
bacteria that the antiobiotics are depleting

Thanks I do appreciate your suggestion. What would be a topical
containing zinc and sulfur? Also I am allergic to sulfa meds, does
this mean I cannot take or use sulfur products? And also over the
summer I tried taking mega doses of the B5 and did so or over a
month and it did nothing for oiliness. Am I doing something wrong?

I will say…the abx I have taken have not really done much of
anything for the acne/pimples I have. Which I find interesting
because that is the only reason I am taking them.

Does anyone here have a case of sebderm that is fairly mild?

I am just wondering if mine is typical or not.

As I said my skin gets quite oily, usually after I have washed my

face , maybe and hour or 2 later it starts pumping out the oil. Well
frequently my face gets slightly itchy( not intense…just annoying)
And if I have a black piece of cloth, like a cotton tshirt or
something and I rub any part of my face, I get these small lil oily
flakes, its not the ig greasy oily scales I see when they talk about
sebderm but I know it must be some type of sebderm because It cannot
be normal to produce so much oil and also have this constant flaking
    from my face.
I have found my entire complexion always has a slightly pink/warm
looking hue. I am not sure why that is, rosacea? seb derm?

Does anyone here use a BHA or AHA to exfoliate and is that a good
    idea or a bad idea?

WHat is the type of diet you are on?

thanks for answering my questions stranger

Oral sulpha and topical sulphur are not the same thing. You
shouldnt have a problem.Anyway,The more shit you eat the
harder it is for B5 to work.As well as keeping a good diet
cut down big time on the carbs. This food group is the worst
for increasing sebaceous gland activity.Stick to the diet
and start off with 8000mg of b5 a day.Spread it out over the day.The
bigger the meal the more b5.I have found that taking the b5 straight
after a meal works best.A good topical for you may be the Rosacea Ltd
discs.Order the brown discs only.Forget about the aha and the bha.
Theyll only make your rosacea worse.Reduce the sebum, skin
cell turnover and the fungi.Stick to the diet and b5 and you may
never have to put soap near your face again.
