Just wanted to offer some tips…
Hi, its been a long long time since I last posted but I wanted to
offer you folks some ideas to help with SD.
Stress is definitely the major cause at least for me, but I have
eliminated other things from my diet in order to improve my sometimes
blotchy (fair skin, heavy beard/daily shaver, red zit lookin areas
esp on forehead, nose and sides, and cheeks. Eat properly and often,
protein is important! I used to just have coffee in the morning and
try to make it through to lunch, no good! stress went up b/c of work
and hungry! And I drink STRONG coffee.
No dairy! I don’t pick the cheese off my pizza but I don’t eat pizza
a lot anymore. Lots of water, my sd was terrible this afternoon, and
I’ve had about 6 pints of water since then (feel like I’m getting up
to pee a lot, but hey!) I can actually go out tonight!
I stay away from Doritos because they have malt and stuff, and my
other allergies are messed up by them, just like when I used to drink
beer. I only drink Guinness now, and it doesn’t mess up my complexion
like the pilseners used to. But I have to get up, eat, and drink
water the next day. Also I’m a pretty heavy smoker, but if I
exfoliate every other day (nivea for men face scrub) in the shower,
shave and wash with nivea visage deep foaming, no soap, cleanser,
everything seems to be pretty good.
Make a point to change your pillowcase often, like OCD often, and
don’t go to bed with stuff in your hair, kiss of death!
Probably no great news to most of you, but if it helps somebody,
great! also take a multivitamin everyday with protein for it to bond
too. I usually make a point to take it with a chicken sandwich, so
thevitamins bond with the protein, and avoid the fried stuff.
One last thing- avoid soda and sugar drinks! I figure the yeast must
come about from the sugar being processed somehwere in our systems
and then the byproducts come through our pores, just like with beer
or alcohol.
Sorry to write in such a discombobulated manner, but I’ve realized
that things have improved a great deal in this situation and others
in the last couple years, but because I kept tabs on what I was
eating and what worked and didn’t work based on the skin’s appearance
in the following days - keep a journal, write down your skin care,
and the food you eat, and the water you drink, when you have a flare
up review the past week - it helps. Also by doing this you lower the
out of control feeling most of us have had at one time or another,
because you are monitoring and looking to control the problem - not
helpless.
Good luck!
