I dont think anybody wrote that any lotion will loose its effect.
Of course I do recall replying to a question about Protopic,Elidel
and Cutanix loosing their effect. You may very well be one of the
lucky ones who has not experienced product tolerance but there are
a lot who have. You are absolutely correct.I dont know how inflammation
works.......in seb derm. But ,as far as I know niether does the rest of
the world. If we did then we would know the cause.

Your right, accutane is good. But unfortunately for some unknown reason
a lot of people with seb derm consistently relapse after two, three and
sometimes four courses.

Antihestimines should not be touched if the itching and stinging is
as a result of seborrheic dermatitis. Some antihestimines can even
exacerbate the condition.

Hi,
You should have good success with the 2 % strength DRL from Cutanix.
It DOES NOT lose its effect, whoever wrote that any clotion will lose
its effect, does not know how the inflammation works. It has its
pathways, and when these are blocked, it can not simply find a new
pathway.
www.cutanix.com I have been using the DRL for nearly to years
daily, and it is good.

Diet is overrated. Eat healthy, and it will be enough.

Pantothenic acid might be good, but I found it a big chore to take
over any lenth of time, and I am in doubt why it worked or even if it
worked.

<!--more-->
Accutane worked like hell for me. If you have any acne to speak of to
gether with your seb derm, you could ask your dermatologist for an
accutane regimen.

if you have itching and stinging, anti histamines like zyrtec might be
of help. Your doctor will write you a prescription for them.

See you later

I dont understand this post.I described 3 steps to take to give
more than partial relief.Im not interested in sitting back and
doing nothing and getting no relief at all.

Pantothenic acid is also known as vitamin B5.It is good at
metabolising fats in the foods that we eat and thus reducing
the sebum secreted from the sebaceous glands.High doses must
be taken in order to achieve this.

> 1/ Reduce the oil being secreted from the sebaceous glands.
> Take high dose pantothenic spread out over the day with meals.

By the way, what is 'pantothenic spread'?

I figure, better partial relief than no relief at all, no? Besides,
there's always a chance that a new medication that works differently
will come out..

I bought it directly from the manufacturer 32 bucks plus shipping.
The price was currently 6 bucks less than lowest retailer. Some
other retailers on the web were actually twice the price. (the
manufacturer is running a special)

I am not endorsing it. Several people say it works well in their
postings, some others said it made them red.

I ordered the one for sensitive skin, which someone else had
recommended in a post. Will let you know how it works. Glad I found
this board. Very helpful and nice to talk with people who are
dealing with this condition. I appreciate hearing both the good and
bad of all treatments. Thank you,

All of these products will eventually loose their ability to
control seb derm.Product tolerance will always set in.Dont waste
your time or your money. If you really want to control your seb
derm then there are three things you must do.

1/ Reduce the oil being secreted from the sebaceous glands.
Take high dose pantothenic spread out over the day with meals.
2/ Diet.No wheat,dairy,sugar and alcohol.Keep carbohydrates to a
minimum since they increase sebaceous gland activity. Also if
you keep oily foods to a minimum then you wont need to take as
much pantothenic acid.
3/ This is a tough one especially for those of us with rosacea also.
You must try and find an oil free topical with ingredients in
it that make it difficult for fungi to live on your skin.A topical
that can stay on your skin for most of the day.Sulpher, zinc type
<!--more-->
ingredients in it.
