Hi All
,
I’m new to this group after coming from the "other" seb derm group.
It seems Apple Cider Vinegar didn’t help my SD at all.. so I thought
of going back to traditional approaches.
Anyone had tried Nizoral, without it being effective, and then found
an alternative that DID work?
Will greatly appreciate any advice!!
Cheers,
Ed

I had good success with ACV initially, but in the end I think it was
making things worse. If it works for others, great, but it isn’t a
cure all for everyone. I’ve been doing pretty good recently with
intermittent use of Protopic or elidel. If I use those for a 2-3
days I usually have relief for a week or so. I’ve also really been
trying to keep my diet decent which helps a little. I’ve also
recently started using Paula’s Choice 1% BHA (lotion with salicylic
acid) to help exfoliate. It has helped a bit in some spots…mostly
areas where it seems follicles were getting infected and I was
getting some redness. I’m trying to dial in an appropriate layoff
period though from it, as I think using it too much may be too
irritating…not that it was causing redness, but my skin was flaking
too much. Having not used it in the past few days, I’m about the
same relief as I typically am after a round of elidel…but it’s now
been about 2 weeks since I last used elidel.
