Have anyone been on Roaccutane? I am on it now and is worried. Pls h

Hi all,

My derm has put me on a 1 month course of roaccutane (10mg x 1
daily). Today is my 5th day on it and I found my skin very much
less oily (I have oily t-zone and dry cheeks) and the pustules
drying up. Blackheads on the nose also cleared up. I am now
worried about the side effects, whether my skin will end up too dry
and what happens at the end of this treatment. Anyone here who have
used this treatment before, please share your experiences with me.
I have been on minocycline before and it works very well during
treatment and 2 weeks after that, everything’s back ‘to normal’ i.e.
the skin still break out like crazy.

I never had it for seb derm. I had cystic acne which was far more
devestating then any dry skin I would have. I wouldn’t be concerned
with the dry skin…which would you rather have…dry skin or acne?
It won’t stay as dry as it is when you are on the drug. Whether it
is drier once you stop the medication vs. before. Yeah it probably
is. Your skin won’t be as oily.

If you are only on a month at 10mg I definitely wouldn’t be too
concerned. That is a VERY short treatment and a very low dosage. I
guess I’m a little surprised they are doing it for so short a time.

I’d do as your doctor says in this regard. If you are concerned ask
them. I wouldn’t deviate from the prescribed action in regards to
this medicine. Either do as prescribed or don’t do it at all.

Are you taking this to clear up acne? or seb derm?
