Diet?

Thursday, October 14th, 2004

OK , been awhile since I posted here. I was just wondering if anyone
has had success in making diet changes?
I am mean REAL results.
Also what are people using to wash their faces with that is
supposedly good for making all the oily/flaky/pimples go away.
I keep re reading the same posts about elidel, protoptic, ACV and the
like. Do these things do ANYTHING at all for pimples? I am just so
frigging confused as to what I am supposed to use.

Sincerely frustrated,

Amon

Long term side effects of Protopic

Wednesday, October 13th, 2004

Someone asked "why stop using it?" Because it’s a relatively new
drug and an immune suppressant. As an immune suppessant, it can
activate those charming Herpes blisters that decorate the facial
region close to the mouth. Sometimes you need a strong immune
system. Plus, we don’t know what the long term side effects are of
prolonged use. If we don’t turn into gargoyles ten years from now,
everyone will know it’s safe to use. Sortof. The best idea is
probably to use in moderation. Marie

Protopic vs Elidel

Tuesday, October 12th, 2004

Just curious about why those of you who use Protopic and complain of
its geasiness don’t try Elidel. I have oily skin and find Elidel to
be light and nongreasy. Why put goop on your face? Also, when I
first started using Elidel, I put it all over my face and used it for
about 5 months straight. I skipped using it in the summer because it
doesn’t mix well with sun… Today I use it sparingly when needed
only on the areas that need it. I think this might prevent
sensitisation. Why spoil a good thing thru overuse? I wonder what’s
new on the horizon when and if this wonder drug fizzles? Marie

dermadeen - ouch

Sunday, October 10th, 2004

I tried dermadeen. I ordered it from ebay and within 2 minutes of
application, my entire face started burning .. I ran to the mirror
and my face was completey red like a sunburn. I immediately washed
off the treatment, but it hasnt helped. Its been 45 minutes and my
face still feels like it is on fire. I am gonna have to take a pain
pill or something to help rid myself of the pain. I must of had an
allergic reaction to it. I dunno.

I also got my cutanix order in the mail yesterday. I will try it
after this dermadeen crap goes away. I’ll post my results after 1
week.

ACV

Friday, October 8th, 2004

Hi all-first time poster here.

I think I’ve read about every post in this group researching the
seb/derm I have on the sides of my nose. I was wondering how to
apply the apple cider vinegar. Do you all use a diluted solution?

Also, how harmful is the OTC hydrocortisone 1%? I’ve read that it is
very mild and is safe for use daily…is this true?

Thanks for all responses

ACV application?

Friday, October 8th, 2004

Hi all–

First post for me here. I’ve been reading a lot about the ACV
application for sebderm. I have it only on the sides of my nose. It
seems to come and go. I wash with nizoral twice weekly and this
seems to keep things in check, although a bit of redness still
persists (just no scaling).

I was interested in trying ACV because nizoral really dries out my
face. My question is/are: do you have to dilute the acv before
application and how many times/day should it be applied?

Thanks–

Josh

cutanix for oily skin

Wednesday, October 6th, 2004

Hello

First I must say thanks to the oak for repliying to my question, but
his reply came just a little bit to late because in the meantime I
already purchased Cutanix lotion for oily and acne prone skin which I
read was the most suitable for sebderm. I have sebderm only on my
face on the sides of my nose. When I tried the lotion I have to say
that I was dissapointed, because the infllamation has goten worse and
there was a lot of itching. My skin was completely red. I dont think
this will work. The oak said that he is using lotion for sensitive
facial skin which I am afraid I should to, because in general the
skin on my face is not oily. Can anyone tell me is the sensitive skin
version much better and appropriate for my condition. Should I give
it a try, because I dont want to waste my money anymore and
experiment. Are the versions of Cutanix lotion much different or are
(more…)
