update since i left the house of mold
Hi all. Im still here. I wanted to update you on my progress since
I moved and left the house of mold behind.
First thing I did was go back to my family physician and told her
about the mold and the sebderm. (The sebderm was noticeable when I
went to visit her) Since I was already taking antibiotics, Elidel,
and a prescription shampoo, she prescribed Zyrtec (allergy
medicine).
She prescribed Zyrtec specifically for the sebderm.
She said it was possible that the sebderm was the result from allergy
attacks that I was having. Whether it be the mold or something else
and thought the Zyrtec would help. Anyway, she was right. Ive
been taking the Zyrtec daily for 3 weeks and Ive only had 2 outbreaks
of the sebderm while taking the Zyrtec. Ive gone out into the sun,
taken hot showers, carbs, sugars .. all the bad things and Ive still
had only those 2 outbreaks.
When I have the outbreaks I apply Elidel and I also take 2 Benadryl
(not sure if thats good to take Benadryl with Zyrtec - but I did) and
within 24 hours my face would be completely cleared up and no more
sebderm.
I am hoping this is my cure. Anyone else tried allergy medicine
to help with their sebderm?

Forgot to tell ya that the first outbreak I had was when I ran out of
the sample zyrtec pills my doctor gave me. It had been 3 days
without Zyrtec and thats when the sebderm came back. So, I ran and
got the prescription filled. Popped a zyrtec and 2 benadryl and put
on the Elidel and I was cleared up the next morning.

Hi there. I am really glad that zyrtec worked for you. I tried it myself, more
for rosacea relief, but found that it didn’t work for me. I am thinking about
trying Singulair, but my doctor said it was about the same as zyrtec. Does
anyone else have any other suggestions?
And as for mold…I just moved into a townhouse with my girlfriend, who also has
severe allergies and asthma. We chose this place because it was recently
recarpeted and the bathroom was redone, but they forgot to seal the tub and it
started leaking. Now there is a big brown spot on the ceiling on the first
floor, right underneath the tub. does anyone know if this is mold?
