New and question
My post was lost among the all the apple cider vinegar posts. So I’m
posting it again
Hi I’m new here and had a few questions. I’ve had SD for about 5
years. About a year and half ago I finally got it under control with
nizoral and hydrocortizone. I don’t know how it finally got under
control because I had tried everything under the sun for the 3 years
previous. I only have it on my face and only certain areas. I have
it between my eyebrows, the creases in my nose and from the bottom of
my lower lip down. I had a relapse about a month ago. I have no
idea why though. I can’t figure it out. From the bottom of the
lower lip down is very tight, very red and it can even be painful to
even smile. The rest of my face is slightly red. The weird thing
about the relapse is I have no flakes. I’ve never had the oiliness.
Anyway, I found this newsgroup and read about Dramatic Relief
lotions and decided to try it. I ordered the free samples for
sensitive skin and started using them about 4 days ago. It makes my
face even more red when I first put it on. It’s also making me break
out. Should I have ordered the one for oily and acne prone skin? I
think they should make all the lotions non comedogenic. Does anyone
know what the ingredients for these lotions are? I was really hoping
this would be the solution to my problems. Any help appreciated.

Hi Dawn; I dont post much but when I read your reaction I had to add something. I was using Nizoral about a month ago. After about 2wks I had intense burning/tightness so stopped using. Took me a few wks to get back to “normal” (whatever that is). Prior to that, I had tried the Cutanix for oily sample; it burns when I apply it tho which I dont like so I stopped that.
Right now I use the Aveeno soy line; theres a moisturizing wash w/ soy, a “clear complexion” wash w/ salicylic acid and soy, and the moisturizer w/ soy (w/ or w/out spf). Also Eucerin Q-10 moisturizer for sensitive skin. Never had any irritation from any of it, so that’s what I “fall back on” when I need to recoup from something lol.
Am anxious to try out the vinegar, but will be leaving for vacation in 13 days and I kno I wont be religious about applying while on the trip, so I think I’ll wait till I come back for that.
Keep posting on your experiences/trials–Im always on the lookout for a good non-greasy moisturizer.

actually, i find the aveeno moisturiser with oatmeal pretty good. and its not
at all greasy.
oh dear sorry in advance all!!
<techy mode> its actually polite internet (netiquette) use to never send HTML
emails to mailing lists for various reasons the worst of which is that its a lot
easier to spread viruses in html code that plain text emails. there are a few
folks here that send in html and its not a good idea. </techy mode>
:O)
have a fine weekend all. take care and look after yourselves. hopefully in no
time we shall be all feeling better after treatment with the acv. after which
we can pool our resources and start a cider farm and capitalise on our discovery
:O)
cheers,
james.

Hi Angel, Thanks for responding. At least I’m not the only one with
that reaction. Right now I’m using absolutely nothing on my face and
that’s not helping either. It’s still red and tight and very
unfortable. I’ve been thinking about trying the vinegar also but I
have a derm appt. at the end of the month so I don’t know what to
do. Where can I get the Aveeno soy line? Do they sell it in any
store? Is it something I have to order? And I’ve never heard of
Eucerin Q-10 moisturizer
Thanks!

Aveeno is in any discount dept store ie Target or Walmart, in the
facial care section, not the body lotion section. I think the actual
name is "Positively Radiant". But Ive even used the regular Aveeno
body lotion in a pinch lol. My son has had eczema since he was an
infant and this stuff works WONDERS, eliminating his need for
hydrocortizone.
Eucerin Q-10 Ive only seen at Walmart; its in a little jar where youd
find the "special" Oil of Olay products ie "Regenerist" etc. It is
great when youre really tight/irritated, it feels like youre
slathering on soft butter lol. Sometimes it even helps me w/ redness.
Funny part is, I try SO HARD to find things more expensive that work
as well or better, and I CANT lol. Something inside me says a $10
jar of cream isnt going to work as well as a $60 jar, but Im proven
wrong over and over…good luck!
