That may very well be the case. I was breaking out on my back and
the derm prescribed cleocyin, antibotics, etc. It didn't get any
better.

So I stop all the crap the derm prescribed. I realized that all that
crap was drying out my skin. It lead me to believe that maybe the
problem was that my skin was too dry in the first place. Now even
though I continue to shower everyday, I only use a mild soap on
my back every other day. And after every shower I use a moisturizer
on my back. Guess what happened? The breakouts went away along with
my dry skin.

I honestly believe most derms don't have a clue. And I'm not
optimistic about the future of the field of dermatology. I feel all
they do is try to treat symptoms and they have no interest in getting
<!--more-->
at what is really causing the disease (e.g. stress, diet, sleep
problems, environmental factors like harsh soaps, etc.). The field
of research is also focused on symptoms, not causes. As long as this
is the case I don't see any hope of a cure for this or any other skin
disease. I guess most people on this list know how I feel so I won't
drive the point into the ground. If you want to read more about it
you can see these previous messages to the list:
