new to group-acv and Terapro

Wednesday, June 30th, 2004

Hi!

I have severe seb derm of the scalp. It began last fall and my derm
seems relatively insensitive to it.
I have used the ACV with periodic success, and have also found that
Therapro shampoo and pre shampoo for seb derm is quite effective.

I work outside a lot and the heat makes this condition really bad
especially when I perspire. The Therapro products smell very strong,
but sometimes it is preferable to smelling like AVC.

All of your posts have been quite helpful-far more than my doctor,
so I want to thank you. I am doing everything I can to stay away
from the cortesone products.

Flare up question

Tuesday, June 29th, 2004

I was just wondering how long it takes for everyones sebderm to flare
up after eating a "trigger" food. I am trying to figure out if mine
is caused by a food allergy. Thanks all.

because my skin would always get red and peel because of the use of
regular soap i cut out using soap all together for like 2 years.

i still washed my face with water and used regular shampoo.

could this have made a light case of seb derm into a full blown
chronic inflamation and/or rosacea?

new…what do i have?

Saturday, June 26th, 2004

i’ve had acne since i was 12. i can remember there was a time for
about 3 months or so one winter i had some dandruff…nothing
terrible just some dandruff. that cleared up a while later, how long
it took i can’t remember. also around that same time i started to
develop spider veins on the sides of my nose and some redness too (i
was overweight at this time also). my skin would always crack and
peel in the summertime and when i used soap. the redness persisted
for a long time at the center of my face.

for the past year or so, i have noticed an overall increase in the
redness on my face and scalp. the first doctor i went to diagnosed
me with rosacea. the second i went to seb derm and the one i have
now also said seb derm.

here’s my question…what do i have? there isn’t peeling AT ALL

Protopic and Tightness

Thursday, June 24th, 2004

Hi,
Is anyone out there using Protopic? Has anyone had any, even
temporary, success with it? I used it last year to reduce redness and
tightness while I was switching from one treatment to another. It
worked pretty well for that purpose. I haven’t used it since then,
though.

If tightness is a problem, you might want to try a mild
corticosteroid like desowen lotion or ointment.
