To Dwick

Tuesday, April 20th, 2004

I am asking the same thing.

I took accutane twice in my twenties when I had severe acne
vulgaris. Then I took the standard 1mg to 2 pound of body weight
dosage for 5 months to get rid of the acne.

But if this is the same dosage and treatment duration for sebderm I
don’t know. I have seen it mentioned that for very severe sebderm
it’s possible to go on a very low dose of accutane for an extended
time (years).

But,,,,,my question is,,,,can you do the standard accutane treatment
of 5 months and get remission of sebderm.

No one seems to know.

Cider vinegar

Sunday, April 18th, 2004

Anyway, it was just a thought. I think I will buy some cider vinegar
tonight and start using it once a day (mixed with water) on my face
and hair line to see if it helps reduce the plaques. I have oily
skin so I am not to concerned it will overstrip my skin.

It’s an old fashioned remedy for vaginal yeast infections and it
can’t hurt.

I heard drinking a glass of cider vinegar water is also good for
restoring ph to your gut flora.

Sebderm causes

Sunday, April 18th, 2004

I think sebderm has various factors that contribute to it (hormonal,
excelerated skin cell turnover, food allergy, yeast/fungus).

I have been surfing on the Dermatology Times website and came across
an article on facial sebderm detailing how two studies for a new drug
(anti-fungal) worked in reducing scaling and open lesions.

I think it all depends on what are the primary causes of an
individual person’s sebderm. Some people may benefits from an anti-
fungal approach.

I know that my particular sebderm is primarily hormonal (creating
excessive oiliness) and possibly secondary fungal (excessive oil good
growth medium for those melezza strains).

Raw Apple Cider Vinegar..

Sunday, April 18th, 2004

I found this post on a health site and was wondering if anyone
here has tried apple cider vinegar?…Maybe with a cotton ball
dabbing on the face….
any thoughts?
———————————————————————-

I have had seborrhoeic dandruff for a few years now. I have used all
the shampoos on the market for this. They work for awhile and then
the dandruff comes back. I started using apple cidar vinegar as a
rinse after shampooing and the sores and dandruff are almost gone and
I’ve only used the vinegar rinse twice. So for anybody else out there
that has this problem, try the apple cidar vinegar.

Sebderm caused by yeast/fungus……

Saturday, April 17th, 2004

I was reading the other day old posts on this message board about one
potential cause of sebderm being fungus related (the fungus patially
digesting lipids thus causing the inflammation).

If a fungus is a factor in sebderm, why not drink a little cider
vineger everyday to restore internal ph. And maybe a water/vineger
astringent used on your sebderm areas a couple of times a day?

I know this vinegar approach may sound simple(ton), but who knows it
may work.

Dear Andmag…..

Saturday, April 17th, 2004

I had severe acne vulgaris in my mid twenties. I took accutane twice
and it got my acne under control to the point that with a topical
retin-A I was totally clear.

I am aware it stays in your system for a few months after you
discontinue taking it. But after two or latest three months it is
completely out of your system.

My question is specific to the use of accutane for sebderm (which I
now have).

To attain longterm remission of sebderm can you do the "normal" 4/5
month course of accutane - or - do you have to take a low dose for
months/years?

Questions for Sebderm people

Wednesday, April 14th, 2004

1) Can sebderm affect the corners of your lips and lip line (look a
lot like angular chelitis)?

2) Do you have redness as part of the sebderm?

3) Regarding accutane treatment; Is it only beneficial at a low dose
for extended therapy - or - can you do the prescribed 4/5 month
regime and still have a long term remission from sebderm?

Thanks in advance for your answers.

Another Humidity Question

Monday, April 12th, 2004

I was just curious as to how many of you have had problems with a
drop in humidity. Im not sure if this has anything to do with my
sebderm, but I not ruling it out. Thanks all…
